Hi, When simulating a particular project and reading the EB, I can see that the module independent shading, which I normally assume to be due to the horizon (far) shading is just below 6%. Looking to the module dependent shading, I can see that this is at around 16%. Two aspects are interesting when it comes to this: The total shading loss over the year, presented in the summary, is 23.2%. Removing the horizon from the 3D model reduces the module dependent shading almost entirely. Knowing how the help file defines independent and dependent shading, I am a little confused by these two contradicting aspects. Regarding (1), what is the l…

Hi, I can't seem to find any documentation as to how one would add a transformer to the AC Mains connection in the system tab. Is it possible to simulate use of separate transformers or will it be in the future? Best, Martin

Hi, I have the following 3 roofs, facing north (208 modules) - south (108 modules) - north (76 modules): I would like to configure all 3 of them using 2 Huawei 60 kW inverters, making sure that each MPPT is only connected to modules with identical orientation. That can be achieved with the following configuration: That way, the first roof would be split among the 2 inverters, taking up the first one entirely and then one MPPT from the second one which would have 2 strings of 14 modules each for a total of 208 modules. The second roof would take up 3 MPPTs, each comprising 2 strings of 18 modules for a total of 108 modules; the…

Hi, I got the following error and do not know what it means nor how to solve it: I was working on a project and saved it successfully, then went on to create more buildings in the 3D Design area. When I did, PV SOL asked whether it was OK to delete the shading simulation, which I accepted. I then tried to exit the 3D Design and was prompted to simulate shading, which I declined, as I was not done yet (I had already configured some modules with their inverters). And then when I tried to save my project that error popped up. Am I doing something wrong? I had previously created other buildings and it was not a problem. Tha…

As a double check I run my own Excel calculation and when comparing that to the PV Sol calculation I find a difference which I hope you can explain. Please look at the attached file; Financial Analysis; First year saving. SEK 5.233,68 Then look at the cash flow Table year 1; Electricity saving. SEK 5.131,06 Should´t these two figures be the same? I have 0 in all inflation rates to eliminate that as an explanation. Next Total Payment from Utility in First year is SEK 6.037,03 I would expect that to be equivalent to Feed-in / Export Tariff in the Cashflow table or ? Hello, i would like to simulate PPA on PV*SOL but i don't know how to set this (or even if pv sol got this option) the parameters that should be: X-price from electric grid($/KWh) Y-price from the PV that installed on the customer property (the customer not paying for this) ($/KWh) Thanks !

Good morning, I came across a funny result and I was wondering if you could help me make sense of it. I simulated two identical rooftops, one with an east-west configuration and the other one with the modules just laying flat (inclination = 0º) and guess what, the flat modules show a slightly higher yield than the others… The main differences between both simulations are as follows: Flat modules: 1.066,73 kWp (3.879 modules), 111% sizing factor, 0’1% shading losses, 1.417,91 kWh/kWp East-west: 992,75 kWp (3.610 modules), 103% sizing factor, 2’7% shading losses, 1.360,51 kWh/kWp Both have 16 inverters Huwaei SUN2000-60KTL-M0…

Hi. Is it possible to calculate shading losses for whole string of modules? I'll give you example: - 10 modules, 9 of them no shading 0%, 1 of them has 99.7% (1 modul is under additional roof): - I would expect 100% losses due to 1 string connection. The thing is that simulation calculates it as only 10% loss! In reality I'll have 0 kWh, on the simulation results I have 2500 kWh. Any idea how to force PV Syst to calculate string shading insted of one module shading?

Dear PV*SOL community, I would like to ask where can I change the "Maximum permitted current" value? I have tried searching in the inverter that I've created as well as the configuration limits setting but still couldn't find the "Maximum permitted current" setting. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you. Boo

To whom it may concern, I have had the students license and everything was working fine. Then the license was due and I have bought full license and now the program does not want me let register it. I have uninstalled it and installed it again but there are my old information and I can not change them and it just stands that the time has run out. What should I do? Thank you for your help

In the software I try to draw a round roof with a raised edge of 2 meters high on which panels can be installed. There are also panels to be installed within the raised roof edge. I can now draw an parapet wall but you can't draw panels on it, how can I draw this situation?

Hi All My new house has orientation: 247°, 67° with 2 oriels (Gaube in german), that means that I can also use small roofs on Gaube with orientation 157° Due to orientation of house I have during the day walking shadows and the position of the moduls is very critical. I created 3D model and made shadow simulations and found out best configuration(one from few, but relatively easy to install) with minimized shadows on moduls. It seems that quite OK is: - 247° - 18 moduls -67° - 10 moduls - 157° - 2 x 2 moduls. In my system I want to use: - moduls 310W G4.1 Q.Cells (already ordered) - optimizers SE P370 (already ordered) …

Hi I have created nice simulation of my system on my house. I used Solar Edge equipment (SE9K+optimizers P370), no akku, Q.Cells ModulsG4.1 310W; all connected in 1 string. House is oriented: 247°(17 moduls)), 67°(11 moduls), 157° (4 moduls). According to PVSol simulation I should be able to produce about: 9492kWh pro year. And now is my question: can I somehow check the instant AC power genereted at specific day? For example I would like to see what is the max AC power of my system at 21.9.2018 or to see how this AC power change during the day. I asked because my electrician suggested for 9920W (32x310W) to use inventer SE9K (ma…

Hi PVSOL team. Just wanted to say well done and thank you for your hard work on the latest update. It has been really annoying spending hours on a tricky design only for it to crash when it's time to simulate. So far I haven't had any crashes since the update. One of my more complex models would not run at all on V9 but works fine on V10. Well done for fixing the simulation issues. Hopefully this is a step towards removing the 5000 panel limit. Keep up the good work.

I have a sawtooth roof which has three usable areas of the same azimuth and slope and are defined as different areas in the software. Each roof area has a whole number of strings of modules. I'd like to use a Fronius 27kW with 1MPPT and 5 strings. Some inverters will have strings from different roof areas. I have selected the three roof areas and selected 'Configure module areas together'. I get an error when I try and select the Fronius 1MPPT inverter 'This manufacturer has no inverter with more than 2 MPP tracker. Choose another manufacturer or polystring wiring'. What is the solution to allow this design? Thanks

The ability to import buildings from other software is brilliant. It will make complex building shapes much easier to model. I have 2 issue I would love some help with - 1. My imported builidngs seem to have a 1 meter restricted area around them. This has stopped me from putting buildings next to each other (see attached image). I can't find a way to change this, can you suggest how to resolve this? would it be possible to add a "deactivate collisions" option like with the standard buildings? 2. I have built my first big system with the new features. I have configured all modules and saved but it crashed when I tried to exit the 3D model. On re-ope…

I have been running the premium version in test version for a week now, and yes I am considering buying the license despite experiencing instability with the 3D module. The program is installed on a new ThinkPad machine with Win10 and first problem is that the program do not start correctly. Clicking on the APP the program execute by asking me to if I want to buy, Registry or start the program. Clicking start I am returned to the win 10 app screen and I have to click on the app again. Ok, I can live with that for the time being but what is more problematic is that the program crashes if I decide not to use the 3D design but later return to the 3D design. When I click…
