Dear Team: Today I wanted to work with my PVSol Premium 2016, but I had the terrible surprise that my program´s test period was over... That was very odd, because I have a license... What can I do??? Best Regards, Boris.

Hello, I'm a bit new with the software and I tried to find the answer of this question before writing this message, without success. Here's the thing, I would like to put a default value for the module degradation. I always put the same value (90% after 20yrs) which I think is consistent with the field behaviour. Is there any possibility to put a default value for this? Thank you for your help and you really did a great job for the software!

I have two questions In the configuration limits options screen the part for the parameters to calculate PV module working point for voltage test in the maximum open circuit voltage test, the temperature that I insert 1) is it the ambient or cell temperature? 2) if it is the ambient temperature, should it be the absolute lower temperature during the year, or the lowest temperature during the sunshine hours, i.e. night temperature or morning temperature?

Hi, I have a question regarding the climate data used to calculate power production etc. Let's say we have climate data over a 10 years period of time, and we have 1 year of hourly values for the costumers consumption. We are interested in the internal consumption of the produced energy, which are the values for climate data (for example irradiation) that goes in to the formula for this? Is the percentage of internal consumption based on the "lowest" data (per time unit, hour) over this ten years period, or is it the average over these available 10 years (per time unit?. Or the highest? Lets say for one hour on one specific day, the data of co…

Hello, I have added my own hourly measurement data (attached below) which is working fine but when I try to run a simulation with synthesized minute values i get the following error: "Simulation has been canceled. Minute values could not be created. Choose a different location or simulate with hourly values. Error message: MinuteSplitter: Input data and Clear Sky data are not in sync." Any idea what could be wrong? Regards, Martin Malmo_1980-2010_SolDataSMHI.dat

As prices for electricity that is fed into the grid are falling, more and more energy management systems are being installed. These systems use excess PV electricity to produce warm water and/or elevate the temperature in an water tank (e.g. by modulating heat pumps or simple heating rods). How can I model this in PVSol?

I am hoping to build a set of irregular buildings based on a design drawing (see attached). I have outlined each different pitch and extruded as an arbitrary building. The option to deactivate collisions is not available for arbitrary buildings. Is there another way to force the buildings to overlap? Sometimes when you first pick up a building it allows you to overlap with another building but this seems to be a glitch. This is how I have overlapped the other joining buildings. Any suggestions on how to get 2 arbitrary buildings to overlap? Many thanks James

Dir Sir/Madam, I am Ahmad Elghobashy from Egypt, I was planning a project and I tried to run the simulation using the REC panels, with the Twin and PERC technology, but surprisingly I get a very low ySpec. annual yield 784.3 kWh/kWp, and a PR of 37.1% what do you think goes wrong with these panels? * I am attaching a screen-shoot for the run results

Hello to everyone I have a client that wants to forecast PV instant power being fed in to the grid. He doesnt wants the standard normal energy forecast for example by a year or by a month. Is there any possibilitie to see that forecast? Many thanks in advance

Hi, When I perform the shading simulation for the plant; I identified the "Average value" that meets my design criteria which is 2% as an acceptable limit. How can the software automatically remove the panels that are experiencing above 2% shading frequency? Thanks in advance, Will

Questions about shadow from snow and setting of soiling We will make a calculation for a customer in Norway. Your engineer has described these figures for soiling throughout the year. The reason for the high numbers for December, January, February and March is due to snow covering the panels. It is correct. But my question is whether the PV-SOL Premium 2017 - latest version does not take this into account when calculating production with information from the address in MeteoSyn. So, from the climate data, should the program know that there is snow on the panels in the winter? Or do you have to write shadow from snow as soiling as the engineer believes, to get the righ…

Good Day, Is there anyway one can model the Tesla Solar Roof tile in PVsol? I don't see the option for it under PV modules unless one can manually add it but details on the Tesla Solar Roof tile are limited. Thanks Regards Damon

Good Day, I'm pretty new to using PVsol and as such trying to work out to add a Tesla Powerwall system, I need to add multiple Tesla Powerwall batteries though in order to get my desired kWh storage capacity but can't figure out how to add the required number of battery inverters as looks like there is only one battery inverter unless I'm doing something wrong? I also get the error message that the maximum charging capacity is insufficient but I am assuming this is due to the fact I don't have enough battery inverters. Thanks Regards Damon

Hi Valentin Support, I would like to know if there is a way (and if there is not, I would suggest the inclusion) to include an extra cost on the middle of the project life cycle, to represent for example the changing of the inverter. I know that I can include an one time payment on the 1st year, but not on the 10th. I also know that I can include yearly extra costs, but that would not be the best solution. Thanks, Diego

Hi all, I´m getting the following error screen for a good part of my projects. After I click OK, I get another message saying "The file C:xxxxxxx cannot be opened". I have gone to the folders that appear on the error screen and I have seen that each time I try to open a saved file PVSol creates a temporary folder with a random number on my system, and for the ones that I cannot open theses folders are empty, while for the ones that I can open a number of files are created, including the "Project.xml" mentioned in the error. Does anyone know how can I fix this? Thanks, Diego Hilgert

Dear Valentin, I had a fully functional version of PV Sol just a few months ago. My computer had to be re formatted and so I contaced SDC UK and was told to uninstall the software and re-install by The Solar Design Company here in the UK. I was sent a link to the latest programme and not the 2016 version I had previously. I opened the programme once and realised it had been updated with a few new details. I closed the programme and havent used it since. Now I have come to use the software having just driven about 200 miles to take some measurements and got home to find that I cannot use them because my software “Trial” has expired. I was not tol…

There is no suggested configuration for the inverters due to "configuration limits". What should I put in configuration limits so that the system provides a suggested solution? I am using default setting. The project is in South America.

Hello, I need to draw U shaped building and the only way as far as I know is integrating different buildings. However, the problem is that I can not place solar panels entirely down side of the U shape - west. The program divides the roof into 3 parts and solar panels can not be placed to the junction line of the roofs. How can I solve this problem? Thanks in advance.
