PV*SOL

Maybe someone had the problem with automatic counting modules and kWp when you select modules? Text that don't display is for example: "5 Modules (1,5 kWp)". We have the newest version of the software. It's don't work just on one computer, on other it's fine.

I have a question regarding the usage of PVSol. The problem I am having is that once I have built a model of the building, using the Google Earth screenshot, then the "Sketch a 3D polygon" tool in the Object View, and extruded the building, placed various air-conditioning ducts on the roof using "Sketch a 3D polygon" - I then struggle greatly to properly orientate a module array either in module coverage or module mounting. For instance, once I have followed the steps above and am ready to place the array, (- Module Mounting - Select/edit Assembly System - Orientation), the final orientation selection is, at the moment for me, arbitrary and requires multiple guesses. Good morning, My name is Esteban. I am user of PVSOl 2016. I am trying to simulate a real fothovoltaic plant. This plant has strings of 20 modules in series, but I couldn´t found the option in PVSOL to configure 20 modules in series, the value maximum possible is 14 modulues in series. I attached some images, the first one is the schema of real plant and the other is my simulation. How can I configure strings of 20 modules in series? Thanks. I have PVSOL 7.0 R5 premium. When i go to regional options to set climate data, it is showing 'Pvsol 7.0 R5 Meteosyn Could Not Be Found. Please Reinstall the program'. However meteosyn was included in the setup. I installed it again but to no avail. I also installed the previous version of meteosyn on your downloads directory but it did'nt work. Please help

Is there any option for exporting cable plan or roof layout to dxf? I can export the cable schematic in this format but not the roof layout from 3d design For the cable plan there is the option to print to A4 but what's best way to more detailed output? Thanks

Hello, I'm trying to run a basic simulation with one module tilted 30% facing south (azimuth 180 degrees), with a wall partially obstructing the view to the south. I've setup the scene, and when I run it there are outputs: Area South: Irradiance onto tilted surface [kWh/m2] Shading [kWh/m2] I'm finding that the shading losses compared to the irradiance (which I assume is the plane-of-array quantity) are much lower than I would expect. For a full year, I'm seeing: Shading - 25 kWh/m2 Area South: Irradiance onto tilted surface 1921 kWh/m2. Which is a 1.3% annual loss. Hello, I designed a roof mounted solar system and selected panels and inverters. When I reach to the cabling section sometimes the buttons are not active and all cabling is not shown. Sometimes the buttons are active and when I run "cable automatically" nothing happens. There are no cables shown on the panels. Is there something I missed during the configuration? Dear PV*SOL community, I have a PVsys horizon profile file (.hor). Basically it's a text file containing pairs of Azimuth-Height values per each line. Height represents the value of the highest obstacle at certain Azimuth (Azimuths are direction from 0 to 360). Those obstacles, can be anything: buildings, trees, mountains... PVsys does not possess the ability of using Tree Transmitance values, so each tree is considered to be an opaque obstacle. On the other hand it looks like PV*SOL does possess this important feature by using Tree's Transmitance values. Hello, I have another problem with PVSOL Premium 2016 (R4). I don’t know how to create in 3D a building with oblique horizontal projection. I mean a building which does not have the rectangular base. The only way which I have found to do it is something like that : place one rectangular building place second rectangular building turn off obstacles detection of one of the two buildings then try to “slip” one building into another This is kind of solution but mapping the dimensions and shape of the object is very difficult. Hello, I recently purchased the PV-SOL Premium and I can't run simulations or reports because on the bottom of the page I read the error "First, please define a valid system in the 3D visualization". No matter what type of system I select I can't run any report in 3D. What do I need to do? Thanks, Tommaso

Hello, I am trying to run a simulation for a system where I've set up a 3D shading scene. When I click to generate results, two simulations occur. The first is the calculation of shading losses. This appears to run for the full 365 days. The next simulation says "Simulating", but only runs until day 239 before stopping. Then, the "Hourly Values" csv file only has data until August 28. Is there a setting somewhere that would govern this behavior? Thanks

When I try to create/modify a PV data , on the Data Base , I get an error and PVSol stops and shutdown. I tried to update the Data Base, I reinstalled PVSol , but the problem persists. I cannot add or work with PV Data Base , all other Data Bases works fine (Inverters, Batteries, etc). We have PVSol on other computers and they work ok. Please help us with this issue. I made a report for a customer and then I decided to activate another roof and fill it with solar panels. The problem is that I cannot generate any new results. Instead I get thrown into the reports area where all the buttons are shaded. What can I do to resolve this problem?

Hi, I work in the Polish company and I use PVSOL Premium 2016 (R4). I have a problem with correct placement of objects in 3D workspace. I mean mutual arrangement of buildings, trees, etc. on the workspace in order to arrange them according to reality – mutual position and distance. The only way I have found to do it is the distance from the top of one object to the top of other object(distance x , distance y). But it works correctly only when you do not change the angle of the object. So you can place correctly all the objects assuming that all are facing south(180’). If you change the angle of one object the distance from top method do not work correctly or …

The from-grid tariff facility in new PV*SOL Premium 2016 is too simple to be truly useful. It is becoming increasingly important when we model PV systems to calculate the potential savings on customer's billed usage. Most of our commercial customers are on time-of-use metering and in the previous PV*SOL Expert we could easily input these tariffs. I feel like the software has been impaired by removing this functionality. Are there any plans to reintroduce this feature? Hello, I am trying to import a load profile in .csv format but do not understand how the software interprets the data entered. If I am inputting a full year (365 days) with 15 minute minute intervals then there are 35,040 entries as noted by the software. Am I correct in assuming that the first entry (ROW 1) is at 00:00 on the first of January and the last entry (ROW 35,040) is at 23:45 on the 31st Dec? Also the software notes the following: Select the number format: - ####.## with a point, - ####,## with a comma or - #.####,## with thousand separators. If I select KW and on that particular entry the installation is demanding 30KW then would my ent…

What is the procedure in defining solar module that is not listed on the database. I noticed a partial load model. this data is not on the manufacturers datasheet. is this data necessary?
