PV*SOL

Dear PV SOL users & team, I usually design projects in Spain with PV SOL and I've noticed that reports usually show a lower specific annual yield than expected. For example, with equal or very similar data for a project in Barcelona, PV SOL shows 1.410,17 kWh/kWp, while SOLARGIS shows 1.487,9 kWh/kWp. Can anybody please explain the difference? Dear PV SOL users & team, I have been using PV SOL Premium 2018 for some months now and a question arose on climate data sensitivity. I am designing a project located in north-east Spain, more specifically in the area marked in yellow in the screenshot below (in a town called Santa Eugenia de Berga, Spanish ZIP code 08507), but the closest climate data as is would be from either Barcelona or Gerona, marked in red below: I understand PV SOL is able to interpolate data via the “Create climate data for new location” in this screen, but could you please clarify which data points are used for that calculation? Good afternoon, I have an enquiry about exporting the simulation results in csv files. I wonder if the data of first column is local time, for instance If I have done the simulation with the climate data of Madrid the first column is the local time of Madrid?. Or GMT?. I would like to compare the data of a simulation with the data of the electric Company´s consumption meter. Thanks in advance. Kind regards

Hi I am trying to configure 2 roof areas together using 2 inverters. Roof area 1 - 13 strings of 18 panels (65kw) East Roof area 2 - 7 strings of 18 panels (35kw) West 50 kW inverter, 4 x MPPT with three inputs per MPPT I want to assign 10 x strings of Roof area 1 to Inverter 1 and 3 strings of Roof area 1 + 7 strings of Roof area 2 to inverter 2. I configure the two roof areas together and then select 2 inverters, but they are not shown separately. It seems that the two inverters are also configured together (if i add 2 x strings to MPPT1, it seems to be added to MPPT2 as well). This is fine if I want to assign even number of strings per inv…

Hi, I've done some simulations involving power optimizers, from Tigo and also Solar Edge. The results in the increase of the performance ratio were small, even in situations of shadowing. Example of a result (performance ratio): 73.6% (without optimizer), 75.8 (with optimizer Tigo). Soon, 1 - The use of optimizers is being viable in the market? 2 - When simulating, which parameters should I configure for best results? And I have tested and followed as an example an example of PV*SOL itself. Thanks!

Hello, I was simulating the example of the Neuhardeberg power plant. However, I saw that it has 145 MW (https://blogthinkbig.com/solar-photovoltaic-power), so the simulation is only part of the plant? For PV*SOL has 82042 modules. I found it strange that this site (https://blogthinkbig.com/solar-photovoltaic-power) says: "With an output capacity of 145 MW, this plant can produce approximately 19,690,000 kWh of renewable electricity per year." I think the information seems to be incorrect.

I'm new to this software; any improvements to my workflow is appreciated; Questions: Can the software find the best array design to provide the greatest savings based on many variables? Some fixed inputs would be the 15minute usage profile, energy tariff rates which applies different rates based on time of day and day of week, number and type of module, and roof areas that are usable. The variables would be how to distribute the given modules to the available areas to account for their load profile, value of energy offset at different times, energy yield of the module (including shading analysis) etc. Are any subset of these features available? Hello, I had a problem today with the specific annual yield calculation. I planned twice a PV plant with different load profile, but the devices (Inverter, Modules, Batteries) remained unchanged. Surprisingly the specific annual yield changed. Do you have any explanation why the specific annual yield is function of - or at least is influenced by - consumption? Thanks in advance Kamal

Using PVSOL Premium 2018 in test mode. I keep getting the error message "Fehler beim Zeichnen des Objekts" and "Fehler beim Zeichnen des Prims" while my installation is in English. So I am not able to create a 3D visualization as these error messages block the program.
