Dear all, I want to simulate adding a battery system to an existing PV setup. In Belgium there's net metering for standard PV installations and users pay a yearly tax based on the inverter output power to pay for the usage of the grid. For a battery system one will be eligible for a hefty subsidie, the yearly tax will no longer be due, but then you can no longer use net-metering and the feed-in tariff will be 0 (for the time being). Is there a way to simulate and calculate the financial impact in PVSOL of adding the battery to the current PV setup and switching the feed-in concept from net metering to surplus feed-in ? Thanks for your help, Jef Noelm…

Hey dev Team, I have a couple of cases where I am supposed to use a Tesvolt battery with emergency power and other case without emergency power TS40 Speicher mit 28,8 kWh und 18 kW Leistung ohne Notstrom TS40 Speicher mit 28,8 kWh und 18 kW Leistung mit Notstrom However, i haven't found these options (with and without emergency power) with the Tesvolt battery in PV Sol My question is what difference the emergency power would make in the end simulation result ? Should i expect more standby consumption in the latter case? Thank you

Hey, I encountered some things I didn't understand in the energy balance section of the PVSOL report, see attached figure. In the figure I have pasted the energy balance from two almost identical simulations. The only difference between the two is that the one to the right has power optimizers from tigo and the one to the left has no power optimizers. Why does the module-specific partial shading differ between the two (underscored in green in the figure) ? Another question the popped up is about the Power Optimizer (DC conversion/down-regulation). Is that due to losses in the power optimizer, meaning that it has an efficiency of 2 %? Thanks! Max

Hello there, i was going through the cash flow in the PV Sol report and interestingly the FIT value is negative for the first 18 years and then turned positive. Any idea how FIT can be negative? Do you think this has something to do with "Minimum amount per year" in the electricity tariff model that i select during simulation ? Danke!! Wittenberger Straße 38_süd.pdf

Hello, I'm working on a PV project on the PV Sol software and, halfway through the job, the image of the place disappeared and this message, in attachement, appeared to me. I have already started the project 2 times and every time I try to delete modules or other objects, I get the information of the "bug report".

Hy there, in the attached project i have used only one solaredge single phase inverter (S5000H) with two strings. Could you please explain me why there is a warning that "max phase difference between inverters is exceeded". 1. Why does it say "inverters" when i used only one 2. what is this warning about and how can i over come this Danke!! Dauerwaldweg 15_süd_190529_1phWR_buildingparallel.pvprj

Hi PV Sol, I would like to know what is the procedure to obtain an update of the database for modules, inverters and batteries. Do I have to send en email to database@valentin-software.com with the new products or I have to send an email to each manufactur and request them to contact with PV Sol Database like I can read on this post?: For example these modules are on queue to be added: Solar Fabrik: All of them: https://www.solar-fabrik.de/downloads?lang=es LG: LG 325 N1K - V5 NeON2 and 325 N1K - V5 NeON2, LG 345 N1C - V5 NeON2 Trina: 310-315 TSM-DD05A(II) Thank you!

I have been working on PV Sol quite for sometime designing and simulating PV systems. We try to convince the customer based on the PV Sol simulation results. But simulation is something which we do making many assumptions and the actual results might vary. the question is, as we are talking about a system which has to last for the next 20-25 years and there are many dynamic parameters involved, what is the acceptable deviation in system performance ( annaul generation, specific yield, ) from the simlated results? do you have any idea if there are any regulations on the market in Germany for this ? P.S: Let us assume that we don't have any new objects casting sha…

I can't run any case of a offgrid design without applying load shedd, even tho i did the calculations so i can have some error in the generated energy to feed my load. But the software says that it won't run the simulation because the installation won't fulfill all the energy required by the load. Is there any menu where i can disable this function or lower the range of dependance from the pv system? Thanks.

Hello, Could you please inform me if my assumption about how different shading is taken into account within the expected energy balance and PR calculations? Shadow from one row of solar panels on the next row(s) has its effect on the expected generated PV energy and so more shadow from panels on other panels leads to a lower expected PR? Next, Shadow from obstacles (buildings, vegetation, other (roof) installations) has its effect on the Global radiation at the solar module and so more shadow from obstacles leads to a higher PR? If my assumptions are correct, could you please explain me why the different kind of shadow has a different effect on the num…

I want to create an offgrid photovoltaic plant but i have 2 main errors: - My load is constant every day and every hour, when i import a load profile as a constant load it will shape the profile and my load won't be constant anymore, it will vary every month. How can i create a constant load profile so i have the same energy conpsumed every month? - The second problem is that i have my own battery inverter for my project, but when i want to select it will only show me Sunny Island inverters, how can i see every inverter in the database? create the inverter in the program is not a solution because i don't know all the detailed data that PVSOL ask to create a new…

If i am not wrong there is a regulation in Germany that individual solar systems are limited to 70% of the rated power output also called "feed-in management or einspeisemanagement". I believe this is done by the inverters. Does PV Sol take this into consideration when calculating the yield (kWh/year) ? Is the value shown in the PV Sol report past this clipping by inverter?. I found the regulation in a report from Fraunhofer ISE, Germany.

Hi, I hope you can help me. I am trying to configure an east-west system, 778 JA Solar 270 W panels in total, 389 per side with Fronius ECO 27 inverters and I don't seem to be able to find the right string configuration. If I try to use the maximum number of strings, the MPP voltage too low and the current to high: Or if I try to reduce the number of strings, the open circuit voltage becomes too high: I have tried using different panels and number of panels per string or having a south-facing system, but nothing seems to work with this inverter. I seem to be in an impasse and any recommendation will be much appreciated! I am also attaching my design file…

Good morning, I am considering the following configuration of 5 strings of 18 modules each with the 20KTL Huawei inverter and AC-300M/60S modules: That is, not the typical configuration of two identical strings per MPP, as the current would be too high: I understand that the first configuration is possible, but I'm not sure how the connection would be done in the "real world". Would it be a string per MPP input entrance, leaving the sixth unused? How would the inverter know I'm not following the second configuration, which is not allowed? Thanks in advance, kind regards, Ricardo

This is with reference to bifacial modules and 3D visualization. I am able to create an elevation in 2D, but not in 3D. Since no elevation in 3D, no rear side production. Modules placed on roof, tested for various mounting structures. Jan

Is it possible to add a solar module to the database in PVSol, which comes with a non linear incident angel modifier? It would be nice if you could add a curve by editing some points in a table. I make the comparison to PVSyst here, since there it is quite easy. I'd like to ask the same question, regarding the temperature coefficient. Thanks in advance!

Good afternoon, Today has been a great day with situations in PVSol !!!!! I'm trying to import 1 SketchUp 3D model and PVSol always gives me the same information. I have already recorded the Sketchup project several times and imported it into PVSol, as well as restarted the PVSol a number of times, but always without success.

It is great to see some new maps available. Getting clearer and more up to date maps will save time on designs and produce better images. I am always a bit nervous with an update but this was a great start to my day. Thanks James

Dear PvSol, I've got the following problem: From the hourly data I calculated that the system will produce 720 [A] (amps) at a certain time of the year. The dynamic poweroutput we have will clip power from 580 [A] and above. So everytime the solarpanels will produce over 580 amps, the poweroutput will be clipped which is produced by the inverter. I manually calculated the percentage which is clipped over the year (above 580 amps) and came to a number of 1.5%. I want to know how it's possible to show/set those kind of parameters en get them projected in the projectsummary. Shouldn't it be possible to set parameter max amps somewhere? or is that already possible? …

Good afternoon, A few weeks ago I mentioned that geolocation was'nt working correctly. After your answers I got it working fine, but now the problem has returned. I'm starting a new project and when I do the 3D modeling, the image (after the System Type and Climate definition) returns to positioning itself off Africa. Can you solve this bug permanently? Thanks, MG
