Good morning, I am trying to draw the cabling in Cable plan instead of dragging and dropping modules in Module configuration, which takes a lot more time. However, once I draw this (for practice purposes): I can only see this (modules cabled as they were before): If, on the other hand, I use the drag-and-drop method in Module configuration, I get a message that my cable plan will be deleted, but the new one is immediately implemented: Is there a way to do the process the other way around, that is, draw the cabling in Cable plans and then have it show in Module configuration? Also, does this have an effect in…

Hi there, It seems that release 3 didn't fix all the problems with the 3D projects. I've got a project in which I've defined the strings and now, after trying to reload it, the program crashes. It's a huge problem since I need to deliver and I'm not in the mood (nor have the time) to start all over again. Luís

Hello PV*SOL team, Is it possible to add the bankability data to the Documentation Presentation (at the moment you have to open it manually in the financial analysis)? Could not find contents about bankabilty in the project options. If it is not possible at the moment, then is it going to be added with an upcoming update? Thank You in advance.

Hi, We are trying to use PV*SOL premium 2020 on a Windows 10 machine with Intel® Core™ i7-9700T and 8GB of RAM. Unfortunately the program often stops responding and displays the included error messages about not enough memory. At the same time we also see extra high activity of the processors integrated GPU. This system should meet all the requirements listed on your page for running this program. What can I do to get the program running more stable?

I have considerable doubts about calculating the power of the MPPT. In my opinion, the problem exists when there is a shadow on the PV installation. In the pictures below, a situation in which, despite the total shade of the modules, the installation produces about 400 W. Such an anomaly occurs for most of the days I am analyzing. On some days it looks more correct (photo no. 3). I often make comparisons with large shading (about 8%) between systems with and without optimizers and the conclusions from each such comparison are that it is not worth paying more for the system e.g. SE because actually according to your program the differences are small in the annual…

Hi, Yes, I know, you're working on a new 3D module that won't be ready for 18 months... Yes, I know, you're not planning to introduce new features or even correct bugs on current 3D... However... I really think a line should be drawn somewhere, because as it stands some 3D features are just about useless and desperating if we try to use them. I'm trying to use 3D "Cable Plan" feature and it's really driving me nuts, the object/node tree refresh is almost never happening, no matter how many times we rename a node. One gets things like this: Obviously there are not 4 bundles with the same name, they all have been renamed, but…

Hallo PVSol Team, I was wondering how PVSol calculates the rating of circuit breakers needed after the inverter and after the bidirectional meter for a system. z.B. the following system uses Solaredge SE7K 3 phase inverter with max output current per phase of 11,5 Amp. PVSol suggested a 16A breaker. Could you please explain how this suggestion was made? Thanks.

Hello, I have a problem with connecting two areas covered with modules in one so I can choose one inverter for the whole installation. The button to connect the surfaces sometimes doesn't work and I don't know why.

Hi, Submiting a New Feature Request for the PV*SOL dev team: Currently module degradation inputs are only 2 fields, one for the age and the other for the remaining power: Most modules we work today though offer a warranty with linear degradation AFTER FIRST YEAR, meaning the value for the 1st year is always different (and higher) than average. For example we have this module as many others on the market: In order to support this, we need another field to enter the first year degradation (0,3% in the above example), and the other fields could still be as they are. Of course having the option to specify the degradation p…

Hey, since a few days I have a problem with the results shown in PV-Sol Premium. Normally there were shown the production forecast, use of PV-Energy and Coverage of Consumption in a diagramm including the load profile (file: diagram OLD). These diagramms aren't shown any more, instead there is a diagram forecast with consumption, thats all. (file: diagram NEW) I checked all the settings, but I don't know why the results aren't shown. I use PV-Sol since several years and I never had problems like that. perhaps somebody can help me out... BR

Hi, I think I may have found a bug on the presentation report. Using the 3D design module I have loaded this realistic horizon into the project: When generating the report back on the main program window, this is what gets generated: Now apart from the obvious error of not using the 3D horizon, I am left with the more important doubt about the yield results, since obviously the correct horizon has impact on the determined values and I wonder which of horizons was used, if the 3D real horizon or the flat one from the report. Can you please investigate and provide feedback on this? Thank you.

Dear Martin, Team Valentin, Hope you had an great weekend. We wondered how it is possible that the kWh/kWp ratio of PVSOL in a south-facing installation (0 degrees) can yield more than the outcome of PVGIS? All factors that we can work with are the same; angle, orientation, location, etc. Thank you in advance. Greetingz!

Hi, PV*SOL premium 2019 (R14) When creating a new 3D system from a map, the rotating tool arrows on the small tool box ribbon do not work, neither of them, Rotate Left or Rotate Right. The zoom level on the other hand is quite aggressive, it would be nice to have at least the double number of steps while zooming in and out. Video demonstration: Don't know if this goes on time for the new release next week, but it would be nice to see it, even if on a patch level build afterwards. Cheers, -jprates

Hi, We've been working on a complex 3D model to try to import it into PV*Sol in a way we can simulate real environment conditions, i.e. terrain levels, buildings, etc. So far we managed to generate the 3D model and to decimate it to very low level resolution on not so important details such as trees and cars parked outside, leaving the buildings in high detail. The only thing missing still is to work out how to reduce the number of texture files to a single file and reduce its resolution to the max 4096 pixels - any help on that would be appreciated. However, the real reason I'm posting this message is message is to ask support for assistance on…

Hello, I'm Leon and we are working on the project that involves 3d scanning with a drone. We've made 2 flight attempts so far and got pretty good scans but the problem is that STL files are so huge, 350+mb at least. What steps can be taken to reduce the size of 3D scans without significant loss of quality? We've never faced a problem like this before - in fact, all our efforts were aimed at improving the quality of 3d scans. Would you mind enlightening me? Does changing the file format reduce its size? Our software can export STL, OBJ and other formats (https://www.artec3d.com/3d-software/artec-studio#compare-studios). Is there any 3D application that can decreas…

Dear Sirs at Valentin Software, Since December the 19th we have filled 5 support request via email address hotline@valentin-software.com, plus one NFR (New Feature Request). Apart from the automated "Your inquiry has been received" reply, no other answer as came, except for a human "we'll look into it" for the first ticket. I understand christmas and new year bank holidays took place meanwhile, but that's 3 days off at most, we're waiting for 2 full weeks now with ZERO feedback. This is not the kind of technical support one expects from a software house selling its products at well over 1k Eur. We just hit an issue that is blocking u…

Hi all, I needed to do some comparisons between several project options, and noticed there is no way to have several projects open at the same time except to open PV*SOL for each one... not so good... The worst came when with only 3 project versions opened I could definitely notice a huge performance hit on my computer, even though nothing was being done on them. Opening task manager to see what exactly was causing this huger overload, this info showed up: The 3 opened projects were all above 17% CPU usage, plus even higher GPU usage, and this while sitting there idle on the 3D "cable plan" tab. I then exited the 3D module on each one…

Hi, We are in the phase of planning and designing a lot of plant's with the Trina Tallmax TSM-DE15M(II) 400W and Jinko Cheetah HC JKM340M-60H-V, but they cannot be found in the database. Do you have any idea if they are planned to be imported and available for use in the near future? Would be highly appriciated if we could start using these modules soon ? Best Regards Daniel
