Hello, I am trying to design a solar PV hybrid system. The system is for a factory which is connected to the grid. However the power supply from the grid is unreliable accordingly they are experiencing outages and have installed diesel generators. Is there a way to do that on PVsol ? adding the generators to the grid connected PV system thanks

Hello everyone, I'm simulating an off grid system (PV panels + batteries) where availability is the top priority. Since the irradiance is quite scarce in the winter (the system is going to be placed near Stockholm, Sweden), I would like to simulate for July to June instead of January to December as seems to be default. The problem is that the state of charge/SOC of the batteries on January 1st at 00:00 differs from the SOC on December 31st at 23:59, which results in a higher availability in January than it would be in real applications. So my question is if it is possible to change the start date/simulation period, or if there are any other solutions to this? …

Hello everyone, What is the best / easiest way to include Thermal Gaps in a PV*SOL layout? I have not found a convenient way to do this yet. Ideally, this is what I’d like to have: After X (amount) of modules I’d like to have Y (distance) of space before the next module in this row is placed. Where I tell PV*SOL what my X and Y values are. Similar to the module distances settings that you get before placing the modules. Is there such a option? Or is there a easy way to do it? Also, it’d be great if the modules stayed as one array Best, Frido

Hello, Can System unavailability or downtime be factored into the simulation as a % say 1%. If so where can I input this figure please? Thanks, Rob

Hello, just putting this question out there; how are Sun position graphs made, and can they be made from PV Sol? Is there a way of illustrating the sun path in PV Sol? The graph below is copied from the PV Sol software help page; https://help.valentin-software.com/pvsol/2020/calculation/irradiation/sun-position/ *and this one is from https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/b/sun-path-illustration-18273849.jpg

Hallo Team, Hope you people are safe and doing good. I guess you people are based out of Berlin, aren't you? Berlin is still safe (I'm in Berlin too) I haven't checked the forum for sometime now. Apparently a lot happened ever since ? We added AEConversion AE INV315-50 to PVSol manually and the datasheet says recommended modules 290-340W Of course 340Wp modules hardly generates 340W in actual conditions and therefore the max output current from module (10,16A) is hard to achieve The allowed max input current to inverter is 9,5A. So when we tried to use 340Wp module along with this mikro-WR, PVSol doesn't allow it. Here comes multiple question…

I know sometimes variety is nice and dark blue can get a bit boring but could you look at why my panels have turned pink? This seems to happen on going back in to the 3D model. Closing and re-opening the model seems to clear the problem. Finally - is there any chance the default overview image could be set to show the whole system? it always seems to cut of a corner on the array. Thanks James

Hello, 1. I would like to ask how to understand the parameter "Price of Electricity sold to Third Party"? I noticed that it does not change "Revanue or Savings" regardless of the value entered. 2. How is "Revanue or Savings" calculated? 3. How to understand the parameter "Cutoff" in "Energy Supply Account"?

Good afternoon, I am wondering, does PV*Sol take into account summer time (or Day Saving Time)? Or does it use only the winter time throughout a year? In that case, daily power diagram in summer months should be moved one hour forward to correspond with the actual time, doesn't it? Thank you, Lenka

Hi Martin again. I would like to ask your help regarding a couple of graphic issues that i face when i try to export the report First in the cable plan i get this form. Is there a way to make it larger and make it fit better in the page? And second when i want to get the string configuration the resulting image is not very good in terms of resolution so the cable lines are not clear enough. Is there a way to either change the weight of the line or improve the resolution? I also tried printing them on A3 but still no much improvement. Thank you

Hello PV*SOL community. Either i am missing something (despite my search) or this feature is not available. Let me explain: I have two adjacent roofs and i want to use some modules from the one to fill up the capacity of the inverter i use in the other (one installation is bigger than the other and i am allowed to use just 3 specific inverter models). When i try to group them together PV*SOL fails to suggest a suitable configuration so i go for the manual polystring configuration. But this feature (poly-string) works only with one inverter model for all the group (group = the two roofs together) and does not let me choose two different inverters in order to distribut…

Hi everyone & Valentin, we're creating an orientation and pitch chart to show others clearly the kind of performances to expect. Like a compass - difference in Orientation axis follows around the chart, and difference in pitch runs from the centre to the circumference in smaller to larger circles (0 degrees to 80 degrees pitch). So the first circle from the centre represents 10 degrees pitch, the second circle from the centre represents 20 degrees pitch and so on. It's quite smart and will hopefully give clarity to others than Northern facing systems still produce an acceptable level of generation. This is what we've made so far as an example; ..…

Greetins. I am working on transferring 3d models from Google Earth Pro to PV*SOL using a photogrammetry software. I am able to export the .obj file and place it in the 3d ambient of PV*SOL, but the model seems to have some unusual coordinates and appears to be tilted compared to the surface of the 3d ambient. I tried tilting the model but it didn't help much. I would like to know how can I solve this problem and have the model and the 3d ambient parallel to each other. I am attaching some images of the issue. Thanks.

Hello everyone. I have a problem with the cable menu on my PV*SOL Premium 2019. The menu beneath the project schematic is way too small and dificult to read and make ajustments (I am putting a image as reference). I would like to know how can I increase the size of this menu for a better visualization. Also I've noticed that you can add a "Max. Power Loss" in this menu as well, and I would like to know how to do so. Best regards.

Hello, I have created a 3D building using the map method described in your tutorial. Works well, however, when placing module areas on the roof (google maps image) it seems there is an angular discrepancy between the roof orientation and the module field. Is the module field is always perpendicular to the roof area? how can I align the extruded building so that my module field will match the orientation? I also tried to adjust in terrain view but that did not have the desired result. Another question I had: Is it possible to use Google Streetview image as texture on the side view of an extruded building? How would I go about it? Thank you for …

Hello, Today I bought a license of the new PVSOL Premium 2010 R3 software and when doing projects, I can't find the add button on the cables pages which is used to add symbols in the circuit diagram. It's on my nervous and really don't understand. One note also that the final letter of word "symbol" is not shown like it's whipped out or something. Kindly advise me what's the solution and reason for this problem. I attached here also a snapshot of the cables screen showing no add buttons. Al Masjid Al Jamiع El-Shorouk PV ONG - Offer - R01.pdf
