Hi, I am trying to add a battery system of 10kw to my sigenergy Controller 10KW inverter but i dont see any options regardimg the 10 or 6 Kw invertres in the Database. I’m a new user of PVSOL. I’ve created a 3D model based on a map showing the location of the house. But PVSOL gives me the error: “First, please define a valid system in the 3D visualization.” Where do I do that? Thanks.

I want to calculate in PVsol for a customer what they draw from the grid and what goes in and out of the battery. As I see now, I can only enter daily periodic charging and discharging over the entire year. I'd like to be able to demonstrate to the customer that they use their own power during the winter months, because there's almost no surplus PV power then. I don't want to sell/return power during these months, so only for self-consumption during the winter. Results not displaying correctly with TIME CONTROL activated When I activate daily time control, it doesn't show up in the results. See the screenshot of the results: grid input remains 0 kWh. If this is not correct. Can this be solved in a new software release of PVsol. Please let me know,

Hello, I have a question about inclination. In documentation, there is said that inclination is 57 degrees and I do not understand how is that possible. I have made open space ground mounted solar power plant. Inclination of terrain is 27.4 degrees, and tilt angle of solar panels is 30 degrees because that is optimal for our geographical location. Did Pv sol maybe summerize these two inclinations and if answere is yes is it correct to do so? Thanks in advance Gordana

As it's Friday I thought it would be nice to share an interesting PVSOL challenge and 2 solutions. I am working on a curved building with a curved roof. solution 1: modelled in SketchUp with measured flat sections on roof to place panels - this looks pretty but took ages to get curved roof to meet curved walls. Solution 2: built in PVSOL 3D design, multiple 2m wide single pitch buildings (lots of trigonometry) - this will be more flexible for small adjustments in roof pitch.

Hello, since the 2025 release I am having issues with loading PVSOL Premium, I will get the error saying it is being blocked by antivirus but all antivirus software has been set to allow the program through. The 2024 version works fine, and after a while the 2025 version will start working normally without changing anything, but usually the first thing in the morning I get stuck trying to open the 3d visualisation, have to close and reopen the software multiple times until it will just start working. Is there any idea what I can do about this? It's happening to both of our users in the business. Thanks

Dear Valentin team, I really wish there was a way to swap between panels of different dimensions without having to recreate the arrays from scratch. The Replace Module button spits out an error if swapping into a module of different dimensions and I cannot understand why that is. Is this something we can expect to see in upcoming versions? I find this to be one of the most time consuming tasks on PVSol and changing the panels should be easy to do. It's a shame that such a powerful (and expensive) software lacks this feature but a free web-based software like SolarEdge designer can do this no problem. Regards, Chloe

Hi there, can someone explain to me the time controlled charging pleas, I am actually disappointed by this update, I thought it was only for battery charge from the grade, but it is actually stopping the battery to be charge by the PV too, which makes this a useless update in PVSol. We want the battery to be charge by the PV and if the PV generation is not enough to fully charge, we need to set a charging time for the off-peak times. Please let me know if this is possible. When i choose a known black panel in photoplan, it doesnt show up as black. I can only choose black frame. Is it possible to fix the colour to match the panels? Or make it possible to Chang the colour of the panel like in the 3D configuration?

Hello, I am unsure what losses/degradation is being taken into account for the year 1 value shown in the 'PV Energy during the observation period' graph as it is different to the other year 1 figures. In this case the values are: The 'PV Generator Energy (AC grid)' / 'Grid export', which does NOT account for first year degradation, is 822,996.55 kWh/yr The 'Grid export (incl. module degradation)', which obviously does account for first year degradation, is 817,957 kWh/yr However, the value confusing me is from the 'PV Energy during the observation period' graph which shows a year 1 value of 818,207.5 kWh/yr, why is this and what factors does this …

Hi, I did a simulation using 620W Solar Panels with different brands, same capacity and inverter. With JA Solar 620Wp, the PR of the system is at 81%. While with Panasonic 620Wp, the PR is at 86%. Please note that the datasheet of the 2 solar panel brands are very identical. With these information, I can say that Panasonic is much more efficient panel than JA Solar. But, checking the datasheet they are very similar so I'm quite confuse how come I cannot reach or similar PR for both panels. Could you please explain how PVSol simulate and forecast the yield? Hi. On the flat top roof in the attached image I want to place the panels directed to the south. Now I just get them lined up with the edge of the roof to the southeast. I there any solution here? /Janne

I made a simulation of the same building with exactly the same PV-system but for different locations. But in the one case the standby consumption of th einverter is 24 kWh/a and in the second case 26 kWh/a. What could be the reason for this difference? I checked all the input data douple and they are similar in both cases.

How do you currently simulate PV systems which have both battery and heating rod combined?

Has anyone else had problems exporting the simulation results since R8 was released? I'm not getting any values in the table, just a list of headings.

I have tried to change the string layout so that the panels are in the correct number and position. But PV sol wont change the cable plan to the correct "meander" or "serpent" as in other areas named strang3. Why wont PV sol change it to be correct?

Does PVSol apply a default 1% discount to total production to account for the average light-induced degradation of PV modules during the first year? I have modified the module degradation in the 3D visualization section. In the first year, the total power is 99%. However, the generation result for the first year decreases by only 0.5%. Additionally, there are no changes to the annual specific output or the CO2 savings. Why is the output reduced by only 0.5% instead of 1%, and why do the CO2 savings or kWh/kWp remain unchanged?

Dear, When i select the WALL function in: tab OBJECT VIEW then the 3rd icon WALL, then again 3rd icon WALL. I can drag this wall to my plane. but after that i want to adjust the orientation. right mouse click on the wall > EDIT > But there is no possibility to change the orientation.
