String plan not correct even after change made

Featured Replies

I have tried to change the string layout so that the panels are in the correct number and position.

But PV sol wont change the cable plan to the correct "meander" or "serpent" as in other areas named strang3.

Why wont PV sol change it to be correct?

Hi patrik k,

I am sorry, I found out that I am also limited by the messenger storage. I just freed up some space by deleting old messages. Could you send the file again?

Thank you in advance!
Frederik

I also tried to change the way the modules are connected by changing starting point and way of connection and after some experimenting it seems that some instructions like the starting point are not always adopted.

Sometimes you have to reset the the configuration and start again. Be aware that a selection of the INVerter or the MPPTracker from the list could make a difference in the configuration.

I passed this project for further inspection, since sometimes the configuration works and sometimes not. We are identifying the problem. A workaround could be to change the starting point and double check the cable plan again.

If you have further questions, feel free to ask!

Best regards,
Frederik

Hi patrik k,

here is the corrected file. If some single string like here is affected:

you can select just the string you do want to correct and change the starting point if necessary:

After this, the configuration should be correct:

Sometimes those manual steps are necessary.

I hope this helps! Best regards,

Hi! I have a similar problem as this post.

I have made a cable configuration automatically (using the meander, top right, vertical options) so that the cable drawn and the string numbers follow each other. But I have changed the string manually a little bit at the end to the left side but the string numbers doesn't change and updates to my new string layout. I've cheched if it changes when i leve the 3D design and go to Parts and lists but the string layout isn't updated there either.

How do I update the string layout after manually drawing cables?

Hi,  Its now 2025 4 years after this was issue was originally flagged, and I am having the same issue, how is there not a fix for this by now?  We are paying enough money to use the software, its so frustrating

Dear Adrian_LS,

Thank you for your inquiry.

If you have already created a cable plan and subsequently make changes to the configuration, the cable/string diagram is not always updated. You must then delete the cable plan (press the ‘Delete all cables’ button), switch back to the Module configuration page and then back to the Cable plan page. Everything is then updated and the cables run in accordance with the configuration.
