I was wondering if you could help me understand how PVSOL calculates the losses due to the shading. In this project we have an east-west layout. The panels in the red row are facing a 5m high wall (building in yellow), so my concern is that it will be completely shaded at the very moment that it should be performing at its best (facing west, shaded when the sun is in the west). If these panels are shaded by this wall and connected to the row in blue, the row in blue will also be affected as they are connected within the same string. Does PVSOL calculate the loss considering the whole string or does it consider the individual loss for each panel? If one panel is 36% …

Dear PV SOL users & team, I noticed that PV SOL reports show a figure for shading losses, can somebody please explain exactly what it means? In a project I am currently working on, this figure is 7,0%/year. However, the highest shading % displayed by a single module is 3,6% and of course, many modules show lower values, so it is obviously not an average as I initially thought. Can somebody please explain what each figure (on individual modules and in the report) means and how they correlate? Hello, I'm trying to model a GivEnergy 20.4kwh battery. The battery has a voltage of 460.8V and Capacity C10 of 53Ah, multiplying these together gives the 20.4kWh capacity as per the name of the product on the database, however the Usable Battery Energy C10 is only showing 17.1kWh - what is the reason for this difference and which should I be going off, the GivEnergy product name or the PVSOL calc for working out the usable energy? Solax Power Battery Database Problem. Shows us the value when configuring batteries :Usable Battery Energy - 0kWh, This error appeared with the last update 2025(R2). Therefore, it is not possible to use the current Solax Power Triple battery database. How to proceed? Should I install an older version back?

Hi, I would like to know if I set the p-value to either P75 and P90, can I also download the yield result of the P75 and P90 value? So far I saw the p50 value result even I set it to either p75 or p90. I really need an answer for this since the bank requires the yield result of p90. Thank you.

I have problem with visual errors when i use Map section with google solar API. Modules move and get smaller and cropped when I'm trying to mount modules with the map section Lift mode activated. The modules appears correctly when I turn Lift mode off. Is it just a graphic error or is PV*sol simulating and doing shade calculations on the small and cropped modules? I've been using Map section with google solar API for the last 2-3 weeks without any problem. The visual errors started yesterday december 4th.

Hello, because in simulations the value of the "grid feed-in" is lower than what I indicate in "PV energy during observation period", since they are annual value. Ex: grid feed-in: 1670kwh. PV energy during observation period in first year: 1645kwh. Also, where can I find the theoretical (lossless) annual energy value (kwh)? Thanks!

Good day, I'm currently using PVSol Premium 2021 (R4) trial version for a university assignment, and there's a hipped-roof building with a flat part at the top (as shown in the attachment) I need to model for the shading study, so I modeled it in Blender and I want to import it to PVSol. I deleted the camera and lighting objects and cleared all parentings, yet I still get the error message shown in the attachment, know what can I do to fix this? or how to extrude the roof of that building otherwise? Hi all, Ive been trying to import a 3D image exported from Blender. I have used the Blosm plugin to import the imagery, and tried exporting in a variety of file formats including .obj. When imported into PVSol the files only produce a grey image, with no colour. When importing .blend files, an error message shows and this doesn't import at all. Am I missing specific settings in Blender to allow for the successful export, or include the colour aspect of the imagery. I have been trying various things over a few nights to no avail, to the point where I can't get a design out to a client. Any help much be appreciated.

Dear support, I have been using PVSOL for big installation about 1MWp mostly for flat roof and PVSOL hasn't had more subjects located on the roof in his tools. as I use very usually some skylights on flat roof I missing in PVSOL more types of skylights specially circular skylight. There is one limit in parameters of skylight - high is limited by 0,5 m. Sometimes are skyligths about 0,8m high. Second thing is that flat roof has much more obstacles - any types of chimneys, air condition, LPS lighting rods, antenna etc. These would be nice to have in PVSOL as well. Hello Guys, Im trying to design a PV system with a Battery. We do not have any self consumption. But will have batteries mainly to feed into the grid when there is demand mainly in the night. Is this posible currenly in the software as im unable to do this succesfuly as there is no elctrecity being injected to the grid from the battery. Hi, Why does the SLD split the Solar Edge SES units up into individual inverters and not just show the Master unit? For example a 100kW Solar Edge inverter is 1no Master Unit and 3no SES units. PVSol shows this as 3no separate inverters and this is confusing the already hard to deal with DNOs. Thanks C

In the Netherlands, 70-80 per cent of households have a 3-phase grid, as a result of which the load is also absorbed over 3-phases. Due to a change in subsidy rules, it will very soon become less profitable to return energy to the grid. In my calculations I therefore increasingly opt for a 3-phase inverter as the self-consumption is higher than in the case of a 1-phase inverter. However, I don't see it in the yield results.
