  1. Hello ! Im a old user if PVSol and I can't use the actual version with my perpetual licence of PVSOL (bought in 2018). Is it possible to have a link to the version with which I can use it(or another solution), please.

  2. Hello, we regularly use inverters that have different input current and power limits. In real life, there are 10 trackers, with all even number trackers having 42A input and all odd number trackers having 36A input. However, on PVSOL, the database entry as trackers 1-5 at 42A and 6-10 at 36A - meaning our stringing layouts are not accurate. I've looked at duplicating the entry to change it, but it only lets you choose how many of the trackers are at each input, not which trackers it applies to - is this something that can be done so we can accurately string these inverters? Thanks

  3. I have an off-grid system with a battery. This battery doesn't require its own inverter; it uses the main inverter. How can I design this in the software? The problem is that the software requires a battery with its own inverter, which isn't my case. I want to model a system with a Goodwe GW5K-ES-LD-G10 inverter and a Goodwe LX A5.0/30 battery.

Can PV Sol calculate what size system would best match a consumption pattern if, for example, you want a self-consumption rate of 80%? I have attached a project where I am trying to determine how many panels and what size inverter would be optimal for this setup if the customer wants a self-consumption share of 80%. At the moment, I am basically just testing different configurations. Another question regarding this project: you can see that I have installed batteries—5 units of 5.12 kWh each. This results in a self-consumption rate of 66.4%. Has AI control for charging and discharging the batteries been included in the calculation? With AI control, wouldn’t…

  5. Hi On larger commercial batteries, they have an HVAC system to maintain battery temperature within safe limits. These are usually AC coupled batteries, such that you have a normal string inverter (eg. Fronius Symo 10kW) and a 50kW 215kWh battery, with the battery's 50kW allowing power in and out of the battery to increase self consumption. Not many configurations have PV strings going to the battery Is the consumption of HVAC simulated in PVSol? There could be night time power consumption due to the battery. Where would I put this information in? I know inverters can have night consumption, could i add an inverter with no strings connected for this use…

Is it possible to set up charging of an electric vehicle from the battery system as well? In the results, the value for EV charging from batteries is always 0. The system charges from the grid even when there is enough energy in the batteries to charge the EV.

  7. I just Simulated a Roof with old Trina 450W and the new 465W both are NEG9R.28. For an example I made a 2d Simulation with 215Modules same orientation. The old 450W produces 7000kWh/jear more. Is incorrect data stored for the new module or are they simply lower quality? Thomas

  8. Hello, Please help me I’ve just lost all hope. I have a complex project for which there’s a really nice model in AutoCAD. It’s a building with a flat roof, but there are many pipes and air conditioning units on it. I managed to create an STL file and import the building. I was completely shocked that there is absolutely no way to change the display in PV-Sol. No lines, no edges. The entire building is one big white blob; I can’t even see what I’m doing. I’m almost unable to work. Placing exclusion zones is a nightmare. It’s absolutely impossible for me to see the points or lines I’ve placed. And the entire system logic is 30 years old. Who…

Hi newbie to PV sol When i add a battery to the system i cannot find a way to increase the value of the job. Currently were using £650 per kw but when you add a battery that cost is not taken into account. any ideas, please?

  13. Hello, I am working on a project in PVsol Premium where I need to model two buildings connected in an L-shape. I have a base plan imported from AutoCAD, and I manually draw the roof outlines on top of it using the drawing tool (pencil). However, PVsol always assigns a flat roof to my drawn shapes, regardless of how I draw them. I tried selecting the outline first and then adding a polygon edge (as suggested in some guides) to help PVsol recognize it as a pitched/multi-slope roof, but it still results in a flat roof. My main issues are: How can I draw two separate buildings and connect them so they appear as one L-shaped structure with a continuous p…

Hello I know how to change the image on the project overview page. But how do you change it on the module surfaces page so i can see all the PV moduls? I would still like to keep south pointing downward, so that it is not rotated like the overview image. Thanks. Dagrofa Herning.pvprj

Hi, I’m still new to using PV*SOL. I have two problems. I want to change the image section of my house. As you can see in the attached picture, you can’t see the whole house and all the solar panels. How can I change it so that the entire house and all panels are visible in the report? My next problem is the error message I’m getting, which I’ve also uploaded here. What does it mean, and how can I avoid it? Thanks in advance.

Hello, when stringing a design, is there a way to define the order of panels in a string by clicking and dragging from first to last, like on SolarEdge designer? The only way I've found is to manually click and drag each panel into the right place, but on larger designs this is very time consuming as the panels you drag swap places, so you can end up having to move every panel in the string to get the right layout. I know there is also the small menu in the bottom left where you can choose direction, starting point and course, but these generally need manually adjusting. Thanks

Hi, The Sungrow 150k Inverter states a maximum DC Input of 1100V. When using DMEGC 510W PV mods we have been given string lengths of 24 by PVSol on our reports. Sungrow have now told us that the maximum length of PV mods for this invert is actually 22 modules at -10 degrees. The Voc of the modules at -10 degrees is 44.45V. so 44.45 x 24 = 1066.8V Is this getting through to the report due to Sungrow inputting the incorrect Max DC V? Thanks

Hello I have several projects for which I need to run some simulations—in 3D. I want to make them as realistic as possible. I have modeled the buildings in 3D. I would like it if one could set the shadow effect, for example, to 2%, but of course, that isn’t possible in 3D. Therefore, I am asking for your help in creating a shadow effect. I am attaching two of my projects here. How do you assess whether shadows should be taken into account? I know that one can model a tree to simulate shadows, but do you find it necessary to include a shadow effect for my projects? Thank you. Dagrofa Horsens.pvprj Dagrofa Hjørring.pvprj

I would like to connect the two roof surfaces to the same inverter. Module Array 01 and 02 to the same inverter. How do I do that? And my next question is about the DC cable going out to the panels. When I enter a length of, for example, 30 m, how do I change it so that it is 2 × 30 m? Since there is a positive cable and a negative cable. Dagrofa Randers.pvprj
