Hi

On larger commercial batteries, they have an HVAC system to maintain battery temperature within safe limits.

These are usually AC coupled batteries, such that you have a normal string inverter (eg. Fronius Symo 10kW) and a 50kW 215kWh battery, with the battery's 50kW allowing power in and out of the battery to increase self consumption. Not many configurations have PV strings going to the battery

Is the consumption of HVAC simulated in PVSol? There could be night time power consumption due to the battery.

Where would I put this information in? I know inverters can have night consumption, could i add an inverter with no strings connected for this usecase?

Dear Michael,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately, nighttime consumption can only be entered for PV inverters, not for battery systems. We will forward this request to our development team.

You cannot include an inverter without connected strings.

A nighttime consumption of 10 W is currently configured for the Fronius Symo GEN24 10.0. If you know the nighttime consumption of your battery system, you can copy the data set for the Fronius Symo GEN24 10.0 (right-click --> Copy) and save it again. You can then make changes in the newly created data set and enter a higher nighttime consumption value.
