PV*SOL

Does anyone know if PVSOL can be used to simulate a battery energy system for grid export use only with export set to 4.30 - 7pm in the evening? Also can the battery system be simulated to charge overnight where there is a cheaper grid import rate after midnight?

Good Morning, Quick question about slightly more complex building (such as the attached). I am struggling to design anything like this with my latest PV SOL premium 3D. Is there a way to fairly simply do this by any chance? (This building is also available in 3D on Google map - do you know a way to maybe import that 3D model into PV SOL?) Many Thanks Steven

I asked this in another thread but I'm guessing that it got buried so I'll make a new post instead. I'm wondering what the option does more than "reduce the number..." since that doesn't really tell me that much. Does it implement a decimate, flatten or smooth algoritm to the shading analysis that's not visible on the object (because I can't see any changes)? I'd like to know because if it does what I think it does it could affect my workflow. Also, does this option mean that PV*SOL can handle models that have more than 500000 vertices now?

Hi, i was wondering if it is possible to model BIPV for curved buildings in PV*SOL? Correct me if i am wrong, but the 3 modelling of curved buildings is not possible in PV*SOL, but i was thinking of doing the sketch either in AutoCad or Sketchup and uploading the file. It does not have to be BIPV, but can be solar panels placed on a racket. Thanks for answers in advance!

When I start building in 3D, I load the map from google maps, then I build the building according to the parameters that are measured in google land. at the same time, the scale of the building does not coincide with the scale of the previously loaded image from google maps. before that everything worked perfectly and corresponded to the scales. what could be the reason for the scale mismatch?

I have an imported model of 6 buildings that I'm designing an installation for and I've used the automatic function to determine mounting surfaces, which I don't usually do. It's worked good on the first 4 buildings but when I got to the fifth I noticed that the mounting surface isn't what I want. I don't want to try to re-determine the mounting surfaces in case that buggs something else. Or should I just try to draw a new surface on the roof?

I made a mistake. I don't have the extended service agreement (which I realized after) and installed the R8 version. This replaced my R4, which was the last version that I could update to, as an R8 trial version. Which means that I went from a fully functional R4 to a trial R8 where I can't export the presentation. I had an old copy of an 2021 R1 setup so I installed that and it works but I'd like to have the R4 back since a lot was fixed from R1 to R4.

This picture might easily explain what I want to do. I can't find the option (if there is one), like there is with regular buildings which have predetermined edges. And I can't figure out how PV*SOL determines which edge to orient after since I've tried reversing the order that I draw it in to try to find a work-around.

Hi, I cannot determine the mounting surfaces automatically on this block. I extracted it from a bigger roof drawing, since it somehow doesn't seem to work, while I can't see what is wrong with it, with other similar blocks it works fine. See also screenshot attached, the right roof works fine, while the left one (the .obj created from the .dwg attached) somehow doesn't work. Can you tell me what is going wrong here? I would like to know if I can import an ond file of an inverter to the data base without manually putting all numbers? for example, the huawei sun2000-20KTL-M3 is not yet available for the simulation and our company supplier gave us an OND file of the said inverter. Hello, I am trying to upload a climate dat-file. First I try to define a new location, but PV SOL seems only to allow me to use a database from Meteosyn. When a location is created, I am able to go to the import data-section. PV SOL then seems to be importing the data. In most cases the imported data does not seem to overwrite the climate data from Meteosyn at that location. The program also does not allow me to create my own location with imported data only. In some cases I was able to update the climate data, but then I got the error messages that it was not aligned with Clear Sky Data. I have been trying to shift the data 1 hour each direction, but no success. …

Hello, I am contacting you with a specific problem for a project. This is a shading calculation for a project for installation of a photovoltaic power plant on the planned corridors. These corridors are lower than the surrounding buildings (the buildings are about 23 m high). According to our simulations of shading in the SKETCHUP, the shading of the panels is quite large, which is also confirmed by PV * SOL. The problem is that the actual calculation of panel shading does not enter to calculation, see the screenshot below. Hi PV Sol-Team, with the last update (PV SOL premium 2021 R6) I am having this error more frecuently and mor dramatic. I have already lost 2 projects with this error where I cant reenter to the projet and I had to do them again. I cant see more details about the error, just the picture that I have attached. Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to enter solar roof tiles in to the software. I have tried to create my own panel by changing the width and lenght, but as you can see in the picture I also need to shift the whole panels 45 degrees. Is there any way this can be done? The image is of sunstyle, which is the roof tile that I want to use. All help or tips is appreciated!
