Hello all, I tried to search the solution for my question and although there are some topics about it, it is still not clear to me. When calculating the shadding losses, does PV*Sol only considers the losses for the shadded module or for the whole string (since it is also affected)? What I really want to know is if PV*Sol will present a value of annual production taking into consideration the losses on the strings or only in the modules? Hope I made myself clear Thanks in advance!

  2. Hi, I am trying to do a simulation for a PV system with an energy storage (BYD batteris) So at first, I started by defining the system, 33 Trina S vertix paneles *395W, divided between two different strings, one with 16 panels and the other is with 17 panels. When I move on and try to define an energy storage system, seems like I can't use the same inverter for the energy storage as the one for the PV system, eventhoug according to the inverter datasheet, the inverter has two different PV inputs, and it has a battery input, so in theorey it should work, but seems like the storage system is a seperate system from the PV system. Eventhough if …

  3. When importing a load profile from measured values, with a time interval of 30 mins, at which time should the first data be imported? For example: should the first data value be relevant to 00:00 or 00:30 ? Thank you in advance! Yours, Jordan

Hello there, Can you have a look at this for me please, I just need to know if I have the panels at the optimum angle as it says no inclination on the report but 30 degree in the set up settings (which is what is needed as is a flat roof). What do you need to acces my report? regards Craig

Hi, I have trouble finding sunstyle (manufacturer - pvmodules) in the list. A friend of mine sent me this screenshot, showing that she has it in her list. Is there any reason that I do not have it? When I check for updates I get this message: Thanks in advance!

Hi! I am doing a simulation to see the differents between a Amerisolar 370W solar module and for Almaden 310. Amerisolar 370 - 29,23kWp - 24 0000kWh - Perfomance ratio 91,1% Almaden 310 - 26,06kWp - 59 000kWh - Perfomance Ratio 232% As you can see there is no possibility that Almaden 310 could generate that amount of power. I have double checked the values to the product sheet and everything looks correct. Do you have any idea on how to troubleshoot this?

Hello, does anyone on the forum have extensive use case with Windows 11? I am keen to update my OS but want to be sure I check for any issues anyone has had with PVSOL Premium and Microsoft Windows 11 update. Thanks In advance

Hi, We produce solar tiles, and we have to mount them with half offset, and make the strings that way (attached picture). I was wondering if it is possible to create modul array and string cable automatically in PV*SOL this way? Thanks all help.

  10. Dear forum, I'm using PV SOL premium project, with a quite detailed configuration: 55kWp solar production, existing 15 minutes-smart metering profiles imported, bidirectional BEV, etc. Now in my project I have the possibility of using a thyristor controller with up to 16 kW power output for heating support, controlled in 5Watt-steps by a SmartMeter energy controller, just activating with the corresponded amount of energy overproduction by the PV. I've already found the surplus consumption possibility, but as the thyristor controller is used for heating support, in my total calulation results, I want to simulate, that the thyristor controller is just used between Se…

Hi All, I am having quite some issues with the importing of 3D models. Very often (if not always) there are white spots / there is texture missing. When I open the 3D file wich is a .OBJ file with a 3D viewer it looks fine, after importing it to PV*Sol premium 2022 R2 there is texture missing. Sometime after restarting the program it becomes a bit better but not always. Can someone give me some tips on how to prevent this? Greetz Johan

Hello all, I have been trying to add a parapet wall into a gable roof. The main issue is that when I try to add a parapet wall into the gable roof, it only allows me to add the parapet wall to one side of the roof, when I select the other side the software removes the previous parapet wall to add a new one with the new roof side. What I want to achieve is to add a parapet wall into the entire roof. Also since it is a gable roof it has an angle which should ajust to the parapet wall. What I mean is that the gable roof has different hights so the distance of the roof to the parapet wall wont always be the same. So, how can I do this? Thanks in advance. Best Regard…

Dear PVSol team, Since the new version came out there is a difference in the simulation results. In the older version it showed the "Own Power Consumption" and a pie chart regard that: In the new version : Is it possible to add the pie charts and "Own Power Consumption" %? With regards, SunLord

Hi I've been trying to add my own load profiles (consumption data) into PV*SOL, but I keep getting this error box saying: "Conversion error in the data line: 1." What could this mean? The file I've been trying to add is a CSV-file and the only data in the file is the consumption, in kWh. Time interval is 60 min, leading to 365 days and 8760 values. The CSV-file contains 8760 values in one column. Thankful for any help! Best regards, Rune

Hello, is there anyway to analyse the expected output (AC) current? I cannot find a single value with unit [A] in the Diagram Editor. Am I missing something, or is it just not existing? (2022 R3) Thanks, Frido

  20. Dear community, I'm looking for an option to automatically allocate a determined area according to maximum PV yield, rather than to maximize PV yield per module. This means I'd like to tolerate shading as long as the yield (considering wiring) is still higher than before, because we can put more modules per area reducing the row spacing. I assume this works for a while but at some point the "trend breaks" and at some point, the influence of the shading becomes greater than the gain from increasing the number of modules. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any option to do that and so it's really annoying to investigate this manually, calculating shading and peak powe…

  22. Hi, I created new meterological data for Fagernes, which gave me quite a big difference from the one before (see images). I see that the one I created is from Meteonorm 8.1 and the old one is from 7.2. Could it be correct that the value is this much higher or is it something that happens in the interpolation process?

Good day I created a 545W-module and all the data came from manufacture. After filled in all values and the efficiency in low light got to 150%. I don't think the number is reasonable even though I have checked other questions and your answer is the value could be slightly above 100%. I will check the data with manufacture again and could you help to check it in the software. Also, I want to know how you define relative efficiency in low light and how you calculate it. Thank you for helping me again and again. LUXEN SERIES 5 182 144cells 530-550w MONOFACIAL.pdf

  24. I allocated two inverters to models in zoom 1 & 2 according to the number of modules in 2 zooms. (The software itself allocates two rows together) And strings are as pictures show us in different colors. But I want to allocate inverter to module row array independently. Invert NO.1 is used for modules in zoom 1 and the other is for zoom 2.They are in chaos now. I've changed the direction and starting point, but it's useless. Can I achieve what I have expressed?

Hello, will the concept of BIM (building information modeling), be implemented in a future version of PV Sol? I would be interested in complex PV program like PV Sol where it is possible to import/ export ifc files, especially when it is able to show and calculate BIPV (building integradet PV).
