  1. Dear all, please tell me if exist the possibility to import/upload one DWG file in PVSOL and start building on that? Can we import GEO/TOPO Dwg files for field? If we have some hills haw we can simulate the on field instalation. I know how to import images / jpg files. Thank you in advance. Best regards, Codrin Somesan

  2. Hi - Please guide me through a way to export the DC trunk and DC main cables from PVSOL to DXF (CAD compatible) format. I am aware of exporting the string and module diagram but can't figure out a way to export the DC trunk and DC main cables. I have attached the screenshot for clarification. Thanks!

Dear all, can some one explain me why my prjv file is huge? One 400kW flat roof is 200MB without any screenshots inside! Can I make something to decrease the volume? Thank you in advance. Codrin

  4. I have been struggling to import load profiles into Premium edition. My task is to import Half Hourly usage data for a site into PVSol, then I can run a simulation to predict the Exported energy and onsite usage, important to show the business case for a local Power Purchase Agreement. My problem is that no matter what format I try (text or CSV in every combination that Excel can output), I cannot get the data to load into the 'Import Load Profiles' section of the 'Consumption' page. The Error message is 'konvertierungsfehler in datensatz in zeile 1', or 'conversion errors in data in line 1' translated. I have even tried to word wrap the text file to try …

  5. Hello, I have issues to display the selfconsumption on the report (presentation). I have a consumption curve (every 15min) but no 3D. I don't understand why it seems that PV-Sol considers that there is no consumption... Could anyone help me? Thanks, Anthony

Hi, I'm designing a smaller ground based project and are currently investigating the option of bifacial vs monofacial modules. But what I don't understand is how the PR value is calculated for bifacial systems. I noticed that the PR is less for some of the bifacial systems compared to identical monofacial systems. When calculating the PR manually I use this equation: PR = ("PV energy (AC) minus standby use") / ("Global Radiation at the Module" - "Reflection on the Module Interface") * module area * module efficiency )) But it doesn't match the PR when calculated manually for bifacial systems compared to what is presented in the report. How can I calculat…

Greetings, I would like to know why Jinko Tiger Neo JKM565N-72HL4-(V) and Risen RSM110-8-550M Modules show 0% reflection on the module Interface losses, once High Transmission Low Iron Solar Tempered Glass, which is used in both modules do not have a 100% light transmittance rate. Besides, I also would like to know if the technology used in these panels’ glasses are prone to any degradation, and if it is, if this factor is considered in the degradation rate of the module.

  8. Hi, I am trying to design a small solar array which has 4 panels on the west elevation and 2 panels on the east elevation. How do I configure this to 1x inverter, I can only get the software to work with 2x inverters Thanks in advance

Hi PVSOL team. I find integrating modules annoyingly hard (it worked in the past). Very often it fails (see attached image). The error says there is a collision even when there is plenty of room around both arrays. Is this something you could fix or can you suggest a workaround? Thanks James

  10. Hi! We are writing a thesis using PV*SOL and need help ASAP We have designed a grid connected PV system (7 roof tops) with a li-ion battery for energy storage. For our first simulation we used 4 battery packs of XOLTA 79kWh/30KW. For the next simulation we reduced the buildings energy consumption drastically due to installation of heat pumps, the solar radiation is the same and we still used 4 battery packs but this time we get a negative battery loss. What does a negative battery loss mean?

  11. Hi! I cannot find any updated user manuals for PV*SOL? (Last one I see is from 2013 (attached), but I would like to see a more updated one as there are many changes). -Torbjørn Heimvik Manual_3dVisualization.pdf

Greetings, I use Autodesk's Recap Photo to generate 3D models (.obj) from drone pictures I take of rooftops, then I import the .obj files on PV*SOL. This all worked very well but now I'm getting an error everytime I try to import a 3D model: "Error on loading the file" I'm aware that PV*SOL doesn't handle models that have over 500.000 vertices, but PV*SOL stopped importing models with under 200.000 vertices, that have around 20 mb. Is there a way I can send you the .obj file so you can test it?

  13. Good day to all. Each time I project a large landscape plant I have trouble with module strings configuration. I can do vertical and horizontal configuration, but it doesn't separate full length of line in parts but go through all the length of line. Then I need to place strings by hand.... It's so annoying. Guess I don't know some special way to configure it... Attached is a photo of my new plant and the marked part is reconfigured by hand. May there be some possibility to do it automatically for a full project by program?? Many thanks

  14. Hello, I have downloaded PV*SOL for a university project, then put a document in the path (given by the professor for unlimited use). The Test version is running, but for the wanted use over the VPN, there is an error: The connection with the remote server could not be done. The application will be closed. could you please help me there? Thanks in advance

  17. Hi, My system consists of 83 KWP panels and 80KW inverter, the distance from meter to inverter is 12 meters. The software selects for the CU cable with 16mm2 cross section. based on my own calculations and my knowledge I think the proper cable size is at least 35 mm2 Cu cable or higher. Could you please check if I'm missing something?

  18. Hi! I wonder how to, or if it is possible to, make and save a load profile (template) from one of the existing ones (under "load profiles / individual appliances". For example, I want to make a new load profile by changing some volumes from the already existing "Family house, Central Europe" (for instance to account for seasonal variations). Let's say I want to copy it, make some changes, and save it as a template with name "Family house, northern Europe". How can I do this? (As can be seen in the screenshot, I am not able to give new names: it only shows up with the same name, and "(copy)" as suffix).

Hi, I am trying to model using HH data that runs 18th April to 18th April. I can succesfully create a single line .csv file with this data (17520 lines), but upon inputting into PVsol the amounts are not correct. How best to proceed? Thanks.

  20. I couldn't find an option to increase the timeout of 60 seconds for suggested inverter configurations - is this possible? On larger arrays, I would happily wait a few more minutes for the right suggestion. Thanks.

  21. Hello, I have designed a solar park with 21508 Moudles, I want to zoom out so i can see the whole plant and show the customer but i can't zoom out as much as I want, as you can see in the video thats the max i can zoom out and the whole plant doesn't come in one Picture, is there a way around this? I want the whole plant to be visible relative to North and I don't want to do it in two different projects. Thanks in advance 2023-03-27 13-17-29.mkv
