On ground plant modules strings configuration

Recommended Posts

Good day to all.

Each time I project a large landscape plant I have trouble with module strings configuration. I can do vertical and horizontal configuration, but it doesn't separate full length of line in parts but go through all the length of line. Then I need to place strings by hand.... It's so annoying. Guess I don't know some special way to configure it...
Attached is a photo of my new plant and the marked part is reconfigured by hand. May there be some possibility to do it automatically for a full project by program??

Many thanks

Did you configure one module system row and chose automatic configuration? So you do not want to have odd rows or columns depending on the way. When configuring this way...

you do want to have clear columns and no "overlapping" modules unlike the following picture?

I am afraid, but this is not possible with selecting all modules at the same time.
I hope not wasting your time by showing you the following way:
You could however select the single parts and add them individually one after the other to the define module areas dialogue:

After doing this selection with one whole row, which is rather fast, you will find your selections within the dialogue Define Module Areas:

After adapting the common configuration of the selected module areas..

image.png

you could configure them as usual

The number of unconfigured selections is not limited to one main row. You could do more selections if you would like to do that.

I hope this is what you are looking for!

Kind regards
Frederik

Dear Frederik,

Thanks for such a nice tutorial. I didn't know that way of configuring. Thanks.
but still have the question. I select modules from different rows to configure it to one 50kW inverter which has one MPPT (6 strings x 24 modules per string). Therefore I need some modules from the end of one row and some from the start of the next row to be connected to the same string (let say 4pcs from one row and the rest 20pcs from the second one). Overlapping of modules is not a problem.  Also strings must be more as possible on the same row. But I'm getting result as below... Where am I wrong??
Thanks

Hej GIM

I must admit that I do not understand your question, could you elaborate what you are trying to achieve exactly?

You could select the first 12 modules on the left of every single row and add them to the Define Module Areas:

To not getting confused later for the inverter configuration it is good practice to follow a systematic name scheme while renaming:

image.png

After renaming all selected module areas (I chose Row [ABC] - Columns 1-2-3), you will be able to configure all those modules to one single MPPT by choosing an inverter which is capable of handling the number of modules on one MPPT, activating Polystring Configuration and adding Rows for the relevant MPPT with the different rows which are selectable via the module area dropdown menus on the right hand side (This is the part where the renaming becomes crucial!). By setting the number of strings of MPP2 to 0 in this case we finish the configuration...

This results in a single MPPT configuration for several selected modules per row for several rows:

Does this clarify your issue?

Kind regards
Frederik
