PV*SOL

Hello, I am currently struggling a bit with my 3D roof simulation. I have two dormers on my roof. Both have a chimney in the middle that throws (large) shadows. Unfortunately, PVSol does not allow me to place a chimney on a dormer. Is there an easy workaround? I am grateful for any hints. Thanks in advance, Sebastian

Fronius GEN24 PLUS has 2x MPPT1 ports and 1x MPPT2 port, Why doesn't pvsol use this info? standaard configuration was 1 streng at mppt1 en 2 strengs at mppt2 , and pvsol says i have to use a T-combine plug. I changed this strand configurations to what Fronius suggests and still pvsols suggests this T-combiner at mppt1. why? because it is not necesarry to use it at mppt1: Please change this in pvsol for all inverters where this applies to.

Dear Support, I just download a trial version of PVSOL Premium. I did litle tests and I found (I guess!) a bug. When I ask to the PVSOL to do the animation of solar shadow, the Sun shadows looks like if my position is at north of equatorial line (North Hemisphere). But I am at Brazil, South Hemisphere. Can I fix that problem ? Thank you

Hi, I have changed from the standard PV Sol to PV Sol Premium. Everything runs fine so far. I have already created successfully my first 3D projects. Anyhow, is there a button or anything to switch between the modes? Or do I always have to go through options, chose a starting mode for next session and restart the program? For fast checking of inverter configurations I mainly use the simpler 2D version. For complicated projects I use the 3D version. Switching between those two is kind of tricky.

I have set up an example project to check the partial shading of inclined systems with various spacings. The field with 30° South shows 4,1% loss of sun hours. And this only effects 2 of 3 rows but may effect the whole string. If I compare the 30° with a narrow interrow-spacing with a 30° setup with very wide interrow spacing The difference is huge (11,2 vs 1,2%). From the figure above I would expect a loss of around 4%? Anyone got an explantion or a thread were the huge difference is explained? Thanks!

Hello Everyone, I would like to add 3 rows of modules with inclination on wall structure in 3d. when I add the wall structure, the modules can only be added parallel to the wall, and since I have 3 rows with bifacial module, the simulation and bifacial calculation is not included if I make the wall inclined 70. is this possible and if not is there a trick to come up with correct Simulation for this case?

Hi! I cannot entirely understand how PVSOL deals with bifacial modules. When choosing a module, there is a field in the "additional parameters" part of the specific PV module data, that can be changed. There, it is possible to choose a "Bifacial factor". I see several modules that have typically 70 % bifacial factor. Does this mean that these modules (that have a number larger than 0) can actually produce from the backside? That is, if a PV module is bifacial (has glass on both sides), there will be a value in this field? Hello, I'm new to PV Sol and have created my first project which involves an electric vehicle. I've designed a system with 20 PV Panels, an Inverter and a Battery system. When I generate the report the Production Forecast says the 'charge of electric vehicle' is 0 Kwh/Year (please see attached file). It doesn't seem to matter which parameters I alter I can't affect this value. I've added consumption, electric vehicle type, range, charge times etc but nothing has an effect. I'm starting to wonder if I've encountered a bug with the software as the Calculation/Results button skips to the report whenever I press it too. Can you tell how I can affect the charge of …

Hello, I'm a Spanish speaker, but it's no problem. I wanted to ask if there is an option to recall in 3D the animation of the sun and the trajectories of these shadows that occur since I see that PVsol only allows taking snapshots. If not, I would look for an external program. THX

Hello team, It was nice to working with PV Sol. I have a question, I have designed a big system with 295 solar modules, Th client wants a powerful String inverter of Delta. But the issue is I have 6 areas in 3D design, and now I want to separate the string in parts like 8 strings but I'm not sure whether we can do so, because I can see only an one function which is configure all modules together, in which complete area of all modules is get selected. But I want to choose only specific string of modules in that area. Is that possible? Because, then I have to make small area in which I have to make strings accordingly. I hope you are getting my doubt.

We are experimenting with using a 3rd party for 3D model creation. Each time we try to import their model (in .dae format) it gives notices on missing textures, for example: The texture 'Brick_Antique_01.jpg' was not found. This leads to the model being imported with no textures. The 3D models import into their PVSol without problems. How to I 'include' the required textures with each model?

Hi, Could you please provide a breakdown of how to model batteries and where within the software options configuration can be done. Is it now only Time Control that can be used to change the charging strategy of the batteries? When modelling I often end up with 100,000's kWh's in Grid Export with little into the BESS.

When i search with keyword 'BYD' in the selection list of battery's. there comes no option. when i search for 'gen24' from Fronius. then the HVM box of BYD is there. why not on keyword BYD? that would it be easier to find and to work with PVsol. but after goog looking. i sees it is the whole system of battery and inverter together what you can select, thats probably why BYD is not findable. its only an battery. Then you can better put above the search window 'INVERTER MANUFACTURER'

Im having the same problem. i want to import my own climate data into pvsol but i followed the instruccions from pvsol and the older topic and have the message "Conversion failed, Formatting error" this is a capture from my txt then, in file/ saves as -> change to the type to " All types" and save the file with the format ".dat " can anyone help me please. Hi, I have designed one building from two buildings due to its geometry. This means that what should be one roof face is actually two. I have very few modules on the second roof face and want them to be incorporated into the strings with the modules on the first roof face. When I am in the inverter configuration however each string has a dropdown menu for which roof face it should be on. Thus not allowing modules on different roof faces to be on the same string. Is there a way around this? In my situation this time I imagine I could remove some panels from one face and move them to the other, but not sure what to do if this couldn't be done. …

In this case I'm searching in the windows bar for the software and it's not there. When I've installed the software I didn't had any mark to choose from for this software. Can PVSol simulate 30 years production including module degradation? I only find it for 1 year.
