Victor Posted January 18, 2018 Report Posted January 18, 2018 Hi, Does PV-SOL consider zero production due to snow covering of the panels a few days a year? Here in Sweden is that a fact especially in the middle and north region. Best regards Victor Quote
developer_mh Posted January 18, 2018 Report Posted January 18, 2018 Hi Victor, yes, snow can be an important factor that influences PV energy production. Short answer is no, PV*SOL can't consider it, because we have no input data for that yet. You can also have a look at these discussions also dealing with snow: But we have it on our list and hope we come up with a reasonable approach in the coming year. Kind regards, Martin Quote
Frido Posted September 14, 2020 Report Posted September 14, 2020 Hello! Just wanted to ask if the info above is still true, or have there been any changes regarding snow? Many thanks, Frido Quote
BorisG Posted June 27, 2024 Report Posted June 27, 2024 Hello! I as well wanted to ask if there are any updates regarding snow calculations. Quote
developer_fw Posted June 28, 2024 Report Posted June 28, 2024 Hello BorisG Unfortunately I do have to tell that we still do not have any news regarding your request. Kind regards Frederik Quote
Vincent Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago Hi, Regarding this topic, what solutions do we have to take snow into consideration? I was thinking about using a pollution (dirt) of 99% (100% not possible) to show that there is no production for the 1st 3 months of the year. I tried this solution but I still have a "normal" production value for these 3 months, no reduction. Are there other solutions to consider snow to get no production for few months? Regards, Vincent Quote

Regards, Vincent Replying to my post... Actually the solution of pollution works (at the 3rd attempt!) to get no production for some months - you can choose which months to get no production thanks to this solution as it can be selected per month - or half a month if you choose 50% pollution I assume (I don't know if this is linear ?). hotline_oh Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago Dear Vincent, Thank you for your inquiry. A 50% module pollution results in a 50% reduction in irradiance at any given time throughout the entire month. What is actually needed is a way to reduce irradiance by 100% on 15 of the 30 days. Unfortunately, there is currently no convenient way to do this. The more complicated option would be to export the climate data, then set the irradiation to 0 on 15 days in Excel, for example, create an importable climate file from this and then import it into MeteoSyn. Vincent Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago Thank you for the feedback. So far I don't need such a solution. I will see later this way if this is planned Quote
