"Access is denied" installation problem

Hello,

I downloaded PVSOL Premium 2020 from the website Solar Design Co and I bought the license, but doesn't complete the installation and giving me a/m error message in the title. Please see screenshot attached. What's the solution for this?

Hi Ragy,

this error is unknown to me, but it looks like a system issue to me. "msxml3.dll" is a system library located in C:\Windows\System32\. Can you see it in your system? Also be sure that no other process is accessing the PVSOL.ini file here:

"C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Valentin EnergieSoftware\PVSOL premium 2020\PVSOL.ini"

or, if you install PV*SOL premium 2020 for the first time, check this file:

"C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Valentin EnergieSoftware\PVSOL premium 2019\PVSOL.ini"

coudl you check if you have access to the following files:

"C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Valentin EnergieSoftware\PVSOL premium 2021\PVSOL.ini"

and

"C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Valentin EnergieSoftware\PVSOL premium 2022\PVSOL.ini"

as well as

"C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Valentin EnergieSoftware\Installation.ini"

Also check if these files are read-only or currently in use by another process or user.

There were a read only on the 2022 PVSOL.ini.

Disabled it and installation went smooth

Hi Frederik,

Turns out the "...PVSOL premium 2024\PVSOL.ini" file was read only. I disabled it and have now successfully installed the R3 update.

have you also checked this file?

"C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Valentin EnergieSoftware\Installation.ini"

Also, you can check all older PVSOL.ini files in each subfolder of

"C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Valentin EnergieSoftware\"
