Jan Sorensen Posted June 12, 2018 Report Posted June 12, 2018 I am looking for information on the number of cycles that the battery makes in for example a year. I see the parameter cycle load, but can not find information on this indicator in the FAQ. Is no of cycles for a battery calculated? Quote
developer_mh Posted June 13, 2018 Report Posted June 13, 2018 Hello Jan Sorensen, you can find more information on the cycle load of batteries here in our new help: http://help.valentin-software.com/pvsol/2018/calculation/battery-systems/lead-acid-batteries/ This is written for lead acid batteries but the section about life cycles (starts between Fig 2 and 3) applies equally for lithium based batteries. Hope this helps, kind regards, Martin Quote
Jan Sorensen Posted June 13, 2018 Author Report Posted June 13, 2018 I am sorry, I need some more help. How should I interpret an annual cycle load of: 0,003369 Jan Quote
developer_mm Posted June 15, 2018 Report Posted June 15, 2018 Hello Jan, If the cycle load is 1, the total number of cycles is reached. This means that in the simulation we assume that the battery capacity will drop to 80%. For example: If your total number of cycles is 1000 and you only had 3 full cycles in one year, your cycle load would be 3/1000 : 0.003. Â Kind regards, Marcel Quote
