I am setting up a BESS system in PVSOL and I see from the report that the batteries are not cycling.  How do I get the system to include cycling of the battery.  The report shows a cycle load of 0.5% which tells me they not cycling.

Hi Chris,

depending on the size of the batteries, the installed PV power and the load, it can happen that the batteries are really not used that much. In those cases, the cycle load can be as low as you described it.

Please also have a look at the help pages, where the cycle load is described (applies in the same way to lithium based batteries):

https://help.valentin-software.com/pvsol/en/calculation/battery-systems/lead-acid-batteries/#cycles-durability

Kind regards,

Martin

Thanks Martin.  I read the link but didn't help with this problem.  Could it be the data for the batteries is set up incorrectly.  I have a load that runs through the night and there is no battery charge / discharge on the system report.  The reason why i believe the data is set up wrong is the project report confirm a cycle load of 0.1%.  Hence the batteries are not cycling at all.  Any idea's how / if we can fix this?
