Hello simon_sand,

thank you for reporting this issue. There seem to be a lot of visibility issues regarding the 3D editor in combination with Windows 11 and screens having a large resolution.

Could you give some more information about your setup? Do you use several screens? Does one screen have a high resolution where you did set up a scaling greater than 100% and a scaling of 100% on a second screen?

Thanks for more hints of your setup in advance and kind regards!

Hi Pierre,

we had this issue a lot in previous versions of PV*SOL and had hopes that the problem would be solved. But then came Windows 11... we are still not sure why this happens even on unscaled screens. But in order to get the menu bar back, you can try the work-around from this post here:

Hope that helps, kind regards,

Martin

When check (Override...) and do this step with ini file: <MainPagerWider>-1</MainPagerWider> ...

I have followed all the steps you suggested but my problem is not solved and there is a complete mess, if there is a solution please share it with us.

Hello PETER SH,

Thank you very much for your report.

If you would like to share it, we would be interested in your monitor size and resolution.

Unfortunately, the problem is so complex due to the many different monitors in combination with different resolutions that we do not yet have a generally applicable solution that works on all computers. In some cases, the workaround only helps to make the buttons recognizable and clickable again. This is probably the case for you.

That said, we are in the process of analyzing the problem and working on better solutions.

To get a state that you can work with again, please try the following steps:

  1. please deactivate 'Enlarge main button bar'
  2. image.png
  3. exit the 3D environment (you do not have to close PV*SOL)
  4. search for the file 'PVSOLpremium.exe' (usually in directory usually in C:\Program Files (x86)\Valentin EnergieSoftware\PVSOL premium 2024\) and go to the Properties of the file by right-clicking on it
  5. Navigate to the tab "Compatibility" and click the button "Change high DPI settings"
  6. please make sure that 'High DPI scaling override' is deactivated there and close the properties again
  7. image.png
  8. in the same directory search for the file 'ValentinSoftware.PV.Desktop.Wow6432.exe' and go to the Properties of the file by right-clicking on it
  9. Navigate to the tab "Compatibility" and click the button "Change high DPI settings"
  10. activate 'High DPI scaling override' there see which of the three options (Application, System or System enhanced) achieves the best result
  11. you can apply the respective setting with 'Apply' and then open the 3D environment again in PV*SOL to see whether this setting has brought about an improvement
  12. image.png
  13. if none of the settings leads to an acceptable result, try to combine the setting (Application, System or System enhanced) with the activated program setting 'Enlarge main button bar'

If this does not help, please contact our telephone support, whose number you find at https://valentin-software.com/en/support/technical-support/.

Kind regards

Mikio

Thank you for your response.

My monitor size is 15.6 inch

And resolution is 1920×1080

Your suggestion in number 8-13 is effective and it was fixed to some extent, but the whole program still has a low resolution and the fonts are large, but it is tolerable.

Hello PETER SH,

Thank you very much for the information.

I'm glad that things are at least a little better now. Sorry for the inconvenience with the resolution and the font, which unfortunately could not be fixed yet.

Kind regards

Mikio
