Hi Chris,

the electricity savings are calculated with the energy that you don't have to draw from the grid (because you have a PV system now), multiplied with the costs of electricity from grid (in €/kWh), which is defined in the from-grid tarriffs, as Vishnu correctly pointed out.

Let's say you have a consumption of 5000 kWh per year. Usually you pay 0,25 €/kWh to the electricity company, that is 1250 € per year. Now with your PV system you can use 1500 kWh of your produced solar energy directly to cover your consumption, so you only have to cover the rest of 3500 kWh from the grid. For those 1500 kWh you don't have to pay your electricity provider, so you save 1500 kWh * 0,25 €/kWh = 375 €.
