BorisG
Hi, We have a problem with the new R7 build. We work a lot with imported drone images. In the previous version you used to be able to edit imported map sections (orientation and inclination). Now with R7 the edit button doesn´t do anything and the options menu (right click on a map section in terrain view) has less options. This is quite an important feature which is missing. Could You please give us some insight into why? We´ve also been noticing other missing features through the last updates. There seems to be a limit now on the number of points in a polygon which can be extruded as a building. Polygons with lots of points turn into trees when extruded. This is frustrating because it limits our ability to model curved buildings. Again, why are features removed rather than added? Thanks in advance Boris
developer_mh
Hi BorisG, thank you for reporting this. The edit button was literally the last thing that was fixed before the release, but unfortunately this last version of the 3D visualisation did not make it in the setup for R7. So this will be fixed in the next version. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. Regarding the other issue: You can just change the object type from tree to "Arbitrary Building", there should be no limit of polygon points. BorisG
Hi, Thanks for the response! I understand. Is there a rough timeline as to when the next version will be released? Is it possible to revert back to R6 in the meantime? Kind regards, Boris
developer_mh
Hi Boris, yes, no problem. You can download the setup file for PV*SOL premium 2024 R6 here: https://downloads.valentin.de/pvsol/setup_pvsolpremium_2024_6.exe You can also install R6 and R7 side by side if you choose a different installation directory. Nils Torbjørn
I just want to add to BorisG's point, i also use the option to change texture on the map section. And i also have to change the orientation of the map some times. I do this so i can get pretty front/heading pictures of our designs. Not important for the project of course, but it looks better than the competing calculators. I've found a temporary work around, but as BorisG says, why are you removing features? developer_bh
Hello Boris and Nils, these models look amazing! Regarding your question: We are not removing any features. To implement the new Google Solar API feature, we had to touch a lot of code to make this work for you. Unfortunately, this bugfix didn't make it into the new version, but as my colleague said, it will be included in the next version. We are also looking into the other points you mentioned. Thank you for your feedback and sorry for the temporary inconvenience! Kind regards, Ben
Ola Andersson
Hi Will you also fix the problem that has been there for a long time, that is: You have entered 3D extrusions on an Open Area and discover that the orientation needs to be adjusted. And when you adjust it, that is change the orientation, you have to redo everything as the objects don't turn in the same way as the Open Area?
