Volodymyr
Hi all! I want to ask a question to which I have not found an answer for myself. Maybe someone can explain what's wrong? When simulating a 2 MW solar power plant with azimuth 180 the program produces 1625.19 kWh/kWp, with azimuth 210 the program produces 1680.12 kWh/kWp. How is that even possible? Such an effect on both bifacial and monofacial modules. In other programs, the calculation shows the deterioration of generation with any change in azimuth. The difference is more than 3%, so this question is very important. Thank you!
developer_fw
Hello Volodymyr could you send both the .pvprj files in question via private message here in the forum so we can have a look into it? Since the input climate data are most relevant my guess is: It might be deferred. Thank you in advance and kind regards Frederik
developer_fw
Hello Volodymyr Thank you for the project. Several effects come into play: Since the climate input data is hourly data, quality differences in the data can have a big effects. Not only the radiation domain which is calculated as input for the inclinated modules but also the conversion domain since the inverters have to handle different data. I compared the energy balances of hourly and minutely simulations and added another climate data source to emphasize the importance of the input data (attached file): It is always a good idea to simulate with minute values in order to correctly map down-regulation effects but also to not under-/overestimate input radiation in the first place. I hope this helps and kind regards Frederik comparison.xlsx
