Cannot add my .dat file. It says conversion failed

Hello dear developers,

I want to add my climate data for which i have exactly made the .dat file according ro the given format by PV*SOL. But the moment i add the data, it says Conversion failed.
 

I would sincerely look forward for some help

The file is added now. 

 

I just have a last query. Now since this newly created file is added in meteosyn, do i have to additionally now change the location or the program will assume this climate data for my simulation?

Hi Yash,

no, the import only imports the climate data. You have to select the data separately.

I am sorry  but the location after importing doesn't appear in the list. Is there a different way to access it?

Hi Yash,

that is weird, I tried your file and it doesn't show up in the Austrian list but in Slovakia! We investigate this issue in MeteoNorm/MeteoSyn.

Yes that seems weird. I rectified my coordinates, and they are for a location in vienna.

I would eagerly await for your solution over this ( if it is possible to debug).

Definitely, I tested the coordinates with openstreetmap before:

MeteoSyn or MeteoNorm puts those off:

I had another look into the coordinates and while they are correct using map providers like Openstreetmap, BingMaps or GoogleMaps, PV*SOL unfortunately needs a special format as described in https://help.valentin-software.com/pvsol/2021/en/pages/system-type-climate-and-grid/meteosyn/#options

I did not double check it since I assumed from your request that you did do this already.

By using the converted coordinates 48.0636,-16.3600 everything works fine.
