Dear Anders,

Thank you for your inquiry.

The quickest way is to place a barred area over the courtyard:

Alternatively, you can draw a polygon with ten vertices and extrude an arbitrary building. Note that the roof surface is interrupted at one point on the north side. Modules cannot be placed over this line:

Okay. Thanks.

I will like to simulate the shadows. On the roof, there is some technical equipment that I would like to model in 3D in order to see its shadows. I have tried to draw a polygon to illustrate the technical equipment, but I get an error as you can see in the attached image. How is this done?

It is a bit of a tricky building I think, so how many panels can you fit on the building? Are there any shading conditions I should take into account in the simulation? surroundings

Dear Anders,

Thank you for your inquiry.

This error message appears if you are in the wrong view (e.g., terrain view). Activate the building (right-click on it --> Activate) or select it from the drop-down menu in the top menu bar.

Then you can add more objects to the roof using the polygon tool. You can extrude buildings and 3D objects and define a height for them. This allows you to include the shadows of these objects in the simulation.
