CarlSEL Posted Monday at 09:29 AM Report Posted Monday at 09:29 AM Hi, Can you please explain to me where the IAM is calculated within the losses with regards to PV modules? Also, what values are used in these calcs? I would expect to see different values over different angles? The panel I am interested in is the Trina-510-NEG18R.28 VERTEX S+ 2024 Thanks Quote
hotline_oh Posted Monday at 01:56 PM Report Posted Monday at 01:56 PM Dear CarlSEL, Thank you for your inquiry. The incidence angle modifier (IAM) is not calculated by us, but must be entered by the module manufacturer in the PV module dataset at an angle of incidence of 50°. As with many parameters, however, the incident angle modifier does not actually have a fixed value, but is dependent on the angle of incidence. Unfortunately, with modern modules, the incident angle modifier is around 100 % at an angle of incidence of 50°. It is usually slightly lower, but rounded, it is correct. We would have to take a curve into account in the simulation, but we don't do that at the moment. It has been discussed before, but has not yet been implemented. Quote
