Hello everybody,

Is it possible to swap from a model of solar module to another (for example swap from JaSolar 275p to Canadian Solar CS6K)  without deleting the former module mounting or coverage?

Hi Kamal,

you can easily do so in the 3D environment, if the modules have the same measures (width and height). If not, this will not be possible.

To swap modules of an existing configuration, do the following:

  1. Select the "Module Coverage" dialog
  2. In the section "Define Reference Module" click on your module and choose "Select/Edit Reference Module"
  3. Click on the button "Replace" in the upper left corner (or right click on the module)
  4. Select the new module
  5. If the two modules do not have the same measures, you will see a message box telling you so

Hope that helps!

Kind regards,

Martin

Hi Sam,

yes there is also a replace button for mounted modules but it needs some additional steps. Just as with the roof parallel modules, the module to be replaced must have the same dimensions.

To swap the mounted modules please follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the "Module Mounting" tab
2. In the section "Active Assembly System" click on your module and choose "Select/Edit Reference Module"
3. In the "Administration of Assembly System" dialog select your module and click "Edit Assembly System" and then click on "Create a Copy of the Assembly System"
4. In the "Edit Assembly System" dialog, again click on your module and choose "Select/Edit Reference Module"
5. In the "Administration of Reference Module" dialog right click on your module and click "Replace"
6. Select the new module
7. If the two modules do not have the same measures, you will see a message box telling you so

Does that help? Otherwise I can add some screenshots.

Kind regards

Mikio
