Optomisers

I'm using premium version 6 r6. I can switch on optomiser on an inverter but is it possible to do optimisation on each panel?

 

Also with per panel optomiser, is it possible to simulate uneven strings on a single mppt channel? At the moment I can only do strings of same length

thanks a lot for your question. If you select the power optimizer on inverter level, this option is valid for all modules that are connected to the inverter. So, the power optimization is done on module level, of course, not on inverter level. If you're asking to have some modules on a MPP with power optimizers and others without, that is not possible.

 

Also at the moment it is not possible to have uneven strings or modules with different slope and orientation on a single MPP. But right now we are working on this feature, so that it will be available in the next major release, either mid or late 2017.

Update for new program version

Hi,

just a short update: In the meanwhile we fully overhauled the design and simulation of PV plants with varying module areas. You can now build any configuration you want with the new 'Polystring feature'. For example:

• Two module areas on one MPP tracker
• Different module types in one string
• Parallel connection of strings with different number of modules
• etc etc

It is available in PV*SOL premium 2018.
