Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry.

We confirm that in PV*SOL premium 2026, you can only generate new climate datasets using Meteonorm 9 data. However, you can continue to use your own climate datasets based on Meteonorm 8.2 data for simulations. If you select a custom climate dataset based on Meteonorm 8.2 data from the drop-down menu in PV*SOL premium 2026, the simulation will be performed using Meteonorm 8.2 data.

Unfortunately, we are not permitted to integrate multiple Meteonorm versions into a single version of PV*SOL premium. We obtain the data from Meteonorm and have no control over the data itself; we simply integrate it into PV*SOL premium. Therefore, only the current Meteonorm 9 version can be used in the current version of PV*SOL premium 2026.

If you wish to work with Meteonorm 8.2 data, you must use PV*SOL premium 2025 R10. We have sent you an email with the download link.

Before doing so, you must uninstall two applications: both PV*SOL premium 2026 and MeteoSyn.

If you wish to use PV*SOL premium 2026 on a second computer, you can transfer the Meteonorm 8.2 data from the first computer to the second by importing the WBV files from the directory "C:\ProgramData\Valentin EnergieSoftware\MeteoSyn\WBV\_userfiles\ZAF" into PV*SOL premium 2026:

Any project file (*.pvprj) started in PV*SOL premium 2025 R10 can be opened in PV*SOL premium 2026. The climate dataset based on Meteonorm 8.2 data will then be automatically added to the list of available climate datasets in PV*SOL premium 2026.
