2026 Versions randomly restarts laptop during simulation

Dear Valentin team,

All PVSol users in our team are currently experiencing a crash that has never happened before in previous versions.
On the 2026 R1 and R3 versions, while we're running the simulation, the monitor goes black with an error message "Device not working properly" and the entire laptop restarts.
When it restarts, our changes are not saved and this is making the software unusable. There are 3 users in our team and we are all currently unable to complete any designs because of this issue.
Our laptops have been able to to run all versions 2024 and 2025 with no issues, the crash only started when we updated to the 2026 versions.

Is there a way to resolve this?

Many Thanks,
Chloe

Dear Chloe G,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Please send the log file and one of your crashing project files (*.pvprj) to hotline@valentin-software.com. The pvsolpremium.log can be found in the following directory:

  • C:\ProgramData\Valentin EnergieSoftware\log

Please note: ProgramData is normally a hidden folder. If it is not displayed, please enable the "Show hidden files and folders" option in the folder settings or enter the path in the path field of Windows Explorer.

We would need the following files:

  • pvsolpremium.log
  • pvsolpremium.log.1 (if available)
  • pvsolpremium.log.2 (if available)
